Main oven won't turn on

After a power cut and now with the power restored, the bottom oven won't come on. The led timer displays 3 flashing zeros and ''auto''. Trying to switch to manual does not seem to have any effect. Can you help?

Theere is no display in the timer (described as "P" in the manual). That means, that I cannot use the auto mode or timer mode for cooking in the oven. ANy idea?

Hi there,

I'm figuring you've probably resolved this, since you posted in November (and I've just joined the site today). However, I thought I'd post a solution just in case anyone else surfs in and finds the same problem.

We have the same sort of oven. After the power has been off, the oven won't work until you set the time on the clock. I think it's because of all the automatic timer features.
On ours, you have to press the two buttons with arrows on at the same time as turning the clock dial to change the time.

Good luck.

Display is dim

Hello Friends! This dimming vacuum display is either caused by a power supply failure with the control board, or a the filaments of the display themselves have started to wear-- similar to that of a bad light bulb. Either way, FixYourBoard.com can solve this problem. Contact them 512-355-1108 for more information. The photo below is from a double oven, but we repair single oven displays too.

I have a Zamussi ZUQ875 double oven. I have just replaced the bottom oven element after it went bang. Nothing tripped out but the digital display has gone out and cannot get main oven to work because

i suspect that you did cut power to the oven when you replaced the element. therefore the oven needs to be reset as new. there are quite a few pages of instructions on setting the timer so be prepared if you are going to to proceed with this "little" project.
I was able to locate your manual online here:http://kitchen.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/zanussi/zuq_875.html?idRes=625295

I suggest unplugging it for a few minutes...then plugging it back in. Hopefully if the electrical is good you will see the oven's timer flashing. then you can proceed with the instructions from page 7.
Otherwise, you may have a blown a short and should get a licensed electrician to look at it.
Another option would be to contact the manufacturer:[email protected]

Or, find the bloke that installed it and invite him over for dinner and maybe he'll notice it's not working and will fix it for free! ;-)
Good luck mate!

My electric amana oven turns off after it has preheated and is baking for a little while. the display goes off and will not turn on until the oven has cooled. is the control board bad?

Ovens have a thermal overload beneath the outer skin which prevents the oven from overheating. If the temperature in the cavity gets too hot the overload will operate and cut all power. When the oven cools down sufficiently the power is then restored. My guess is that this is what is occurring. If the electronic timer is faulty is doesn't normally turn off and on, it just won't work. It sounds as if the thermal overload needs replacing.

Gaggenau EB944-110 Pyrolytic oven stuck in some kind of mode after power outage. Oven worked perfectly but there was a mains cut. After restoring power it appears to be stuck in some kind of strange...

Yes this could be the problem. If you can't set the timer to manual mode the oven will not work. Turn the oven to on so that when power goes to it you will see the oven indicator light come on. Play with the timer buttons until the oven indicator light comes on. If it won't work you probably need a new timer.

The oven tripped the main fuse switch to the house while on and when i restored power the clock on the oven came on but nothing else works no grill, oven, fan or lights ???

you have to set the clock befire anything works .if you have done that its could be that the element has failed and the fault current has damaged any of the contacts in the circuit which can be themostat ,timer contact thermal cut out contacts. failure of the timer contacts would leave nothing working
