Lamp and Power lights blinking fast and no picture...
I called the local JVC repair place and they told me that since my TV was purchased in 2004 it was likely the bulb. So I replaced the bulb and it went fine, but after i plugged it in it was still blinking fast and without a picture. Help! Its a JVC D-ILA HD-52Z575
I have the same tv and purchased in the same year as the original post. One difference is about 6 months ago I replaced the bulb. It sounds like from the original post that the problem is not with the bulb, but could it possibly be the fan or power supply?

The blinking red light on your JVC projection TV could indicate a problem with the TV's power supply, lamp, or other internal component. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
Check the power cord: Make sure the power cord is plugged in securely to the TV and the power outlet. If the cord is loose or damaged, the TV may not receive the power it needs to turn on.
Reset the TV: Unplug the TV from the power outlet and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. This may reset the TV's internal system and resolve the issue.
Replace the lamp: If the TV has been used for a long time, the lamp may be burnt out and need to be replaced. Check the owner's manual or contact JVC customer support for instructions on how to replace the lamp.
Contact customer support: If none of the above steps work, the TV may have a more serious problem that requires professional repair. Contact JVC customer support for assistance or to find an authorized repair center in your area.
You might want to talk to JVC as this model had all kinds of issues--missing any color, picture inverted or backwards just to mention a few.
The solution was to connect it to a computer and use a jig from JVC and download two up grades on sd cards and install them manually.
I mention this as the Light engine in the set communicates with the main chassis and you in fact may have a issue with that.
At least make a call to JVC---saw about 40 sets with this model where this cures all sorts of communication issues--the engine if "set" wrong could easily cause this problem.

TV won’t turn on
• Press the TV button or ON/OFF button while remote is in TV mode and there’s a source of power to the outlet or outlet strip.
• Make sure the TV is plugged in.
• You might have tried to turn on the TV during the lamp cool-down. Wait a few moments and the picture will appear.
• Has the power light on the front of the TV been blinking for one minute? If so, the lamp may be dead. Refer to the Power indicator
is blinking or fl ashing section below for more information.
• When you fi rst plug your TV into an outlet, the Power indicator on the front panel will light and blink for approximately 30 seconds
and then go off during the initialization of the TV. This happens only when power is reapplied to the TV. The TV can only be turned
on after the Power indicator goes off.
• Check the wall receptacle (or extension cord) to make sure it is “live” by plugging in something else, such as a lamp.
• Something might be wrong with your remote control. Press the POWER button on the front of the TV. If the TV turns on, check the
remote control solutions on page 84.
• Remote Setup might be set to the wrong option. Press MENU/OK on the front panel. Select Connections, then Special Features, then
Remote Setup. Choose TV (default).
Power indicator is blinking or fl ashing
If the light blinks 5 times, pauses, and blinks again 5 times, the lamp is trying to turn on. If the TV doesn’t turn on after 5 minutes and
then the light blinks steadily for one minute, one of the following options is possible:
• Lamp door may be open.Face the back of the TV. Locate the door at the bottom of the TV and close it. Turn off the TV and turn
back on. The lamp should turn on.
You can easily replace the lamp yourself by following the lamp replacement instructions. If your TV is still covered by
the warranty, call 1-866-723-6486 to receive troubleshooting assistance and a lamp replacement.
• If your TV’s warranty has expired, call 1-800-338-0376 to purchase a lamp replacement.
To order the correct lamp, you’ll need to know your TV’s model number, serial number, and lamp type—this
information is listed on the Service Model Number sticker (example of the sticker is shown above). Face the back of
the TV. The sticker is located on the right side of the TV.
when both the blue light and red light are blinking it means 1 of 3 things. 1. lamp replacement. This often works everytime for the repair. TIP!!! DO NOT USE ANY OTHER LAMPS OTHER THAN JVC AUTHENTIC LAMPS. ANY OTHERS AND YOU RISK DAMAGING YOUR TV FURTHER. 2. the fans are not working properly or need to be replaced. They need to be cleaned every so often and they will stop working from burn-out if not done so. This repair will cost you less than 100 dollars. 3. The ballasts are defective and need to be replaced. The ballasts themselves run about 150 dollars. I tell you I have fixed this TV more times than I care to count, not to mention the number of lamps I have gone through. The guy at the TV repair place now knows me by name when i come to buy lamps. :(
Look in the owners manual for the directions on how to remove the lamp. Your model the lamp goes in from the front on the left looking at the TV. There is a thumb screw in the back on the corner holding the left front speaker on. Under the panel there is another thumb screw holding the lamp door on. You will need a Phillips screw driver to remove the lamp. You will most likely find that the lamp is bad. You will either have to order a lamp directly from JVC, a service center or a parts distributor.
