Tech came out 11-28-2008 did not have parts to fix problem and could not get ok from central call center he was told over phonme that if machine did not f06 not to do anything. 10 minutes after leaving f06 error code again called tech on his phone and advised of f06 told he could not do a thing to fix at the moment. Called Sears central and was told that for a $10 fee tech would be out in the am 11-29-2008 waited and no show. Went online and was told to reschedule for 12-06-2008 am. Starting to get really pissed at the whole process. Washer is under warranty and now has to be referred to the lemon law dept. In the mean while tech has to come out and take one more shot at a repair. This way they can say it is a lemon and replace it. Finally did the diagnostic test and got f06 right after the test started!!!!!

It is their tactic. The program has a problem (I realized it) the motor has no problem at all. He ran the diagnostic as well, and with his magic hand the wash machine started (finished the cycle) completely. However, he said to throw the wash machine out and replace the motor which is the same price like another one or there's a cloth in it between might have stuck in. I asked him if you were able to finish the cycle, and change the error code somehow, some way at the back clicking little parts, why do you say the motor has a problem? Why didn't you take the cloth out of it then?

Check the wire harness that goes to all your connectors on the Motor, MCU, and CCU. I have seen a loose wire connector do this F06 error.

If all checks ok, then its either a faulty MCU, or faulty drive motor.

What does F06 mean?

F06 error code indicates a motor tachometer failure on most Kenmore Elite front load washers. There are many different models, so I would need the model number of your washer to be sure.

This type of problem could be caused by loose wiring connections between the motor and the motor control board. It could also be caused by loose wiring connections between the motor control board and the main machine control board. Other problems that could cause this fault code include:
A failed drive motor.
A defective motor control board.
A failed main machine control board.

Hope thie helps (remember to rate and comment this answer)

If all checks ok, then its like a faulty CCU, check your owners manual, some are covered under warranty for up to 5 yrs.

Error code f06 model 11045089404

"F6" is a Motor Speed error problem. It is commonly attributed to either a broken or slipped drive belt, defective Drive Motor, bad Motor Control Unit (MCU), and/or the interconnecting wiring. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608706-f06_error_code

First, remove the back panel of the unit and make sure the drive belt is not broken, or has not slipped off the drum pulley.

Then, remove the top panel of the washer and check all the connector plugs between the Drive Motor, MCU and Central Control Unit (CCU). Check for loose connections and then unplug each connector and plug them back in (one at a time) to ensure they are snug and making good contact. The top panel comes off by removing the three screws that hold it in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, then off.

NOTE: You only need to check the connectors that affect the drive motor and MCU circuitry.

The MCU has a tachometer mounted on it. If it is determined to be the cause of the problem, it is considered part of the MCU and cannot be replaced separately. The MCU is not serviceable and will require replacement.

Next, check the motor windings to ensure they are reading the proper resistance. Followed by continuity checks of all the interconnecting wiring between the drive motor, MCU and CCU. You should not need a service manual because each one of these washers comes with a technical data sheet.

For more in depth troubleshooting tips refer to your tech sheet located inside the washer behind the lower toe panel. You will need to locate and remove the screws under the bottom front edge of the toe panel. Once removed, the panel will drop down, then come off. If the tech sheet isn't located directly behind the panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls. The tech sheet includes all error codes, test points, diagnostic procedures and helpful illustrations to assist in troubleshooting and repair of your washer.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartrsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

My kenmore Elite HE3t Giving a code F 06

"F06" is a Motor Speed error code. This is an indication that there is a problem with the Drive Motor, Tachometer, Motor Control Unit (MCU), Central Control Unit (CCU) and/or interconnecting wiring between the all these components. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

I would begin by checking all the connector plugs between the CCU, MCU and Drive Motor to ensure none of them are loose or have corroded contacts.

Read through the link and follow the steps provided. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps.

NOTE: The majority of the time this failure is attributed to a bad tachometer which is located on the MCU. If defective, the MCU must be replaced. There is a technical data sheet that comes with the washer. It is located inside the washer behind the lower toe panel directly below the door. The panel comes off by removing the screws located under bottom front edge of the panel. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then come off. If the tech sheet is not located directly behind the panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls. Included are all the diagnostics and troubleshooting advice for your washer, including diagrams to show test points. HINT: For better access to the screws you can prop the two front feet of the washer up using a 2 x 4.

I have a kenmore elite 3 that flashes f06

"F06" is a Motor Speed error code. This could indicate a problem with the drive motor, motor control unit (MCU), interconnecting wiring, or the tachometer (part of the MCU). The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

I would begin by checking all the wiring and connector plugs between the MCU and drive motor. Vibration from the washer can cause the connectors to come loose. Also check them for any signs of corrosion that may be causing poor contact.

Measure the motor windings to see if they are still within specs. Bad motor windings could generate the error code as well.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you.

Model 110.45962.400 code comes up f 06

The following link explains the "F06" error code on a Kenmore Elite:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

In a nutshell, the error is an indication of a Motor Speed problem. This means there is a communications problem between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Drive Motor or Motor Control Unit (MCU).

However, before assuming there is a problem, unplug the washer for at least 30 minutes. In some cases the washer can experience momentary computer glitches. The 30 minute interval is necessary to reset the computer. Sometimes this is all that is required to clear some error codes.
If the error code returns following a reset, follow the advice given in the link to determine the fault.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you require additional assistance, please let me know.

Machine shuts down and flashes F 06

"F06" is a Motor Speed error code. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

Now BEFORE you assume you have a component failure, the manufacturer recommends unplugging the washer for at least 30 minutes to reset the computer. In many cases this is all it takes to clear common "glitches" in the system. If the error reappears, follow the advice in the link by first checking all your connections on the Motor Control Unit (MCU) and Drive Motor. Then take resistance checks of your motor windings. The link gives you all this information.

To answer your initial question, there should be a tech sheet included with your washer that explains all the error codes and how to troubleshoot them. The manufacturer places this inside the washer behind the lower panel under the door. It will be located either on the back of the panel, or on the interior wall of the case. I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

PS If you locate your tech sheet, it is recommended that you leave it inside the appliance so you know where it is. The most common thing that consumers do is remove the tech sheet for safe keeping, then forget where it is.
