Old post
the OP question is not clear. at all
my guess, he mean is this PC CCLF or LED
answer: CCFL,.
LED began in 2010 year, (large screens first then small last)
the tubes are bad on all now, 99%
inverters are rare fail. 1% based on stats.
why they fail
how to reach them or not. some are impossible to reach damage free.
why not upgrade to 2010 or never monitor and win. big time win.

There is a good chance that the inverted has developed a fault. This is a part within the screen assembly which controls the backlight. If your equipment is under warranty, Dell can sort it out for you. If however it is not, you will find that laptop repair centres will probably charge you quite a lot to fix it
vanita you are 6 years late. why?
the correct answer is both.
the backlamp CCLF tube bulb is dead.
inverter not inverted. "DC to DC inverter"
the inverter bad is 1%
the CCFL is 99% failure rates, well documented.
this old old PC has $20 street value. now.
its junk, nobody puts new $100 screen in $20 PC
why ?Econ101,

Remove the battery from its compartment on the side of your Dell Inspiron laptop computer.
Remove the power adapter from its plug on the side of the Dell Inspiron (if your laptop is currently plugged into a wall outlet).
Press down and hold the "Power" button on the laptop for one to two minutes. This will dispel the excess electrical current that is built up inside the laptop.
Put the battery back inside the compartment of your Dell Inspiron.
Plug your power adapter back into the side of the Dell Inspiron. Press "Power." Your laptop computer will now turn on.
hope this helps
