How to ''shrink'' document to fit in an e-mail...

When e-mailing my resume to prospective employers, Is there a way I can send it WITHOUT them having to open an attachment? I've tried to cut/paste my document from word perfect to my mail composition box, but it doesn't fit. Is there a way to "shrink" my resume so it looks normal? Please help.

1.Go back into Word Perfect and set the margins on the page to the same width as the email page.
2. Most email programs allow you to modify the margins of the page.
3.Many people have trouble opening a word perfect document vs. a Word document. Change the compatibility of the word perfect to allow reading by Microsoft Word.
4. If your prospective employer doesn't know how to convert word perfect to word you might not want to work there.
5. Resumes as an email is cumbersome. Just change the compatibility to allow it to be in a PDF format.

SOURCE: I cannot send attachments with my e-mails. I am

Hi,

This is a known issue with the New version Yahoo Mail. As a workaround to this problem, you can switch to the older version of Yahoo Mail (Yahoo Mail Classic)

To switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic (Old Yahoo), on your Yahoo Mail page click the Options link in the upper right corner between Help and Mobile, then click the Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic link.

A dialog box might appear asking for feedback. If it does, click Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic.

For more details, click on this link:

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: since upgrading yahoo 7 mail I have not been able

New version of Yahoo has many issues at this time. They hope to have it fixed soon. In the meantime, try switching from one Yahoo version to another. Or shift to the Yahoo Mail Classic version (the old interface) which loads faster and works on all web browsers.
You also want to check yahoo mail using a different web browser program (Mozilla, Chrome). Or check your internet connection speed and firewall access limitations.

If somebody transmits a company a resume without realizing if they are hiring or not, should they expect a reply?

On record several companies will have a professions post and link on their web site careers site that they do not respond or acknoweldge unsolicited resumes or inquiries, and do not keep unsolicited resumes.

If you are able to possess an auto-reply system to free fax to email with "we are not taking applications at this time', thank you for your curiosity in ---firm", that is typical for some larger businesses and spreads good will.

I worked for a business which received resume by faxes alot and was always informed by the HR department to toss the fax resume in the junk, because HR only accepted responses to posted job advertisements, which needed to be delivered to the tackle in the job advertisement.

You are incorrect! The error code is on my laptop after setting up a document

This error occurs if

  • Windows Live Mail is set as the default mail client;
  • A Hotmail-type account (any account, including those on domains like hotmail.*, live.* and msn.com, that uses the Hotmail interface for webmail) is set as the default mail account;
  • That account is configured to use HTTP;
  • Windows Live Mail is not running when it is invoked by a sendmail or mailto command, like by clicking a link on a web page.

You can download an update to get it fixed. Get it from here:http://windows.microsoft.com/fil-PH/windows-live/essentials-other-programs

To work around the problem, ensure that Windows Live Mail is running beforeclicking a Contact us link or using the browser's or other application's Send by e-mail function.

I hope this helps!

How does the 1210 scanner work with Windows 7? I have downloaded the driver for the printer and it works ok, but I cannot use the software for the printer. The copier and the scanner work, but i cannot...

You will have to do a two step process to send a scanned document or image by email; the scan to e-mail button won't work. Scan using either Windows Fax and Scan or Paint. Save your file. Then start (Compose/Write) an e-mail to the person you need to send the document. Click Attach and browse to the location where the scan was saved. The default folder is C:/Users/<user_name>/My Documents/Scanned Documents . Click OK after selecting that image. Finish writing your e-mail and send it.

If you'd like to automatically open the e-mail program, browse to the folder where you saved the fax from Computer (Start button) and right click on the image. Choose Send to Mail Recipient. The new mail compose window should open.

I hope this helps.

(a program like PaperPort may let you send to e-mail recipient without the extra step; however I'm not sure of the details.)

I have a document that I need to send but my hotmail account will only allow me to send 10mb but this document is larger then that. How do I shrink it so I can send it???

There are 2 ways of doing it. Either you use Winrar software so that you can compress the file to less than 10 MB.

Or, you can use a free utility called HJSplit to split the file in 2 parts and send the parts as attachment. Whoever receives it can join the files by using HJSplit too.

The host 'reynolds4242' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Subject 'hi', Account: 'reynolds4242', Server: 'reynolds4242', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,...

Seems you are using outlook to send your email. You might just have clicked their "mailto" linked that's why outlook popped up with the recipient's already written.

If you don't have your own email account, you can't you outlook to send email. You better sign up with yahoo mail or google mail then continue sending your email.

Anyhow, if you have your own email account, you must have setup your POP3 mail server and SMTP mail server correctly. It somewhat looks like this:

POP3 mail server: mail.yourdomainname.com
SMTP: mail.yourdomainname.com

Regards!

I am trying to send my Resume to an employer. Whenever I try to paste my resume from windows vista documents to a new email, I get kicked out of the system. Help I need to send my resume today!

what application are you using??
OS doesn't control applications.
you can save the documents in 97-2003 Micrososft word format. Since Vista use Microsoft 2007 with extension of DOCC. Majority of the company have not yet inpleement 2007. it is safer to send the document in earlier version.

Note:
DO NOT SEND COVER LETTER AND RESUME IN THE E-MAIL ITSELF. SEND IT AS ATTACHEDMENT. E-MAIL IS ONLY FOR HEARDER, AND POINTS TO THE ATTACHEMENT.

Believe me, I know!
