It started dripping a few weeks ago but if you wiggle the tap handle around a bit it will stop dripping temporarily until you use it again. is it a washer or do i have to purchase a new tap or taps?( there is a cold water & a room temp. tap) is this a "do it yourself" project or is it to difficult task to try to fix on my own? thanks for any advice you can give me
If the cooler is a hot and cold, even if its a cook and cold, the cooler always needs to be cleaned and maintained, not only on the inside but on the outside, as the cooler is used calcium builds up over time. that is why your taps are leaking, there is a build up in the taps, therefor the taps are not sealing properly and letting some water thru. i say take the taps out and clean them with vinegar.
the second thing u can do is the taps do come apart into smaller peices once u disconnect them from the cooler. take the taps apart and find the spring located within it, stretch the spring and than reconnect the peices together than reconnect to the water cooler.
Just had this problem... hot was fine, cold was leaking. the rubber stopper was kinda nasty and needed to be washed, and there was a little bit of plastic residue that had made its way in between the seal and the rubber which was wicking water through drip by drip... a good cleaning... (more fun when there is a full tank on it at the time) and it's good as new, no more drip :)
Marion, mine does the same and is around the same age. Did you ever get advice regarding this. I don't use rain water, I use tap water, but same problem
