Oasis water cooler taps started dripping

It started dripping a few weeks ago but if you wiggle the tap handle around a bit it will stop dripping temporarily until you use it again. is it a washer or do i have to purchase a new tap or taps?( there is a cold water & a room temp. tap) is this a "do it yourself" project or is it to difficult task to try to fix on my own? thanks for any advice you can give me

If the cooler is a hot and cold, even if its a cook and cold, the cooler always needs to be cleaned and maintained, not only on the inside but on the outside, as the cooler is used calcium builds up over time. that is why your taps are leaking, there is a build up in the taps, therefor the taps are not sealing properly and letting some water thru. i say take the taps out and clean them with vinegar.
the second thing u can do is the taps do come apart into smaller peices once u disconnect them from the cooler. take the taps apart and find the spring located within it, stretch the spring and than reconnect the peices together than reconnect to the water cooler.

Just had this problem... hot was fine, cold was leaking. the rubber stopper was kinda nasty and needed to be washed, and there was a little bit of plastic residue that had made its way in between the seal and the rubber which was wicking water through drip by drip... a good cleaning... (more fun when there is a full tank on it at the time) and it's good as new, no more drip :)

Cleaning solution for water cooler water bottle?

The best thing for cleaning a water cooler is a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Fill the cooler, slush it around and let it sit for a few, slush around again and sit for a few. Up to 15 minutes and then drain contents until empty. Rinse cooler 2x or 3x and then taste a sample of the tap water that you are rinsing through the machine. Once the water no longer has a taste of vinegar then reinstall the water bottle.

You may have to high a water pressure. This may have been disguised in the past by the mains tap being partially closed (deliberately). The plumber will have opened the mains tap fuuly after repairing the leak. Alternatively you have water hammer caused by loose pipework. The plumber may have removed a pipe clip in order to repair the leak.

Water leaking (dripping) into the drum when machine is off. Drip is coming from where water dispenses into the machine to fill the drum.

Hi just read your posting. The fault with your machine is a faulty water valve.1st turn off the cold tap to the machine and leave for a couple of hrs.If the dripping stops you have a faulty cold valve. If the dripping does not stop then turn off the hot tap and that should stop the leak.Either way to fix this fault a water valve must be replaced.Or you can stop the drip by just turning the taps off after the washing has finished.Hope this helps and please reply for further help if needed.

Tried to tighten hot water tap to stop a drip and

There is normally a plastic washer at the end of the valve stem which you turn to allow the water to flow and to stop the flow. It sounds like this washer has either deteriorated or been damaged by over-tightening. You will need to remove the stem and replace this washer. It is normally held in place with a screw.

You will need to remove the on-off handle and probably a stem cover to access the flats on the stem where you can place a wrench. These flats will likely be recessed into the shower wall; therefore, it will likely require a deep socket to reach them. Most hardware stores will have the sockets needed to remove and replace these stems.

Of course, make sure that the main house shutoff valve is closed before you start to do this.

When I turn on the cold water tap in the Bathroom Sink the water comes out in a very slow drip or not at all, the CW bath tap is ok

Confirm that the shut-off valve under the sink is open all the way. If it is, then close it and remove the cold water tap. If this is a single handle tap you will of course have to turn off the hot water shut off under the sink too.
With the tap removed and a bucket and towel handy, open the cold water shutoff just a little bit. If water comes rushing out, the problem is obviously with the tap. You may be able to clean or repair it, or you may have to replace it.
