Overdrive on rock band wireless guitar

I just tried my rock band wireless guitar and the overdrive will not work. What can I do?

  • Anonymous Dec 11, 2008

The amount of force doesnt matter, the overdrive will still not work. it has to do with the tilt sensors inside, which i cant find another chip for that i can replace it with =[

I have had this problem once or twice myself. For me, I used to be familiar with the Guitar Hero controllers, which were very sensitive. As for Harmonix's rock band guitars, they are not as sensitive as guitar hero's and require a very deliberate motion when deploying overdrive. Next time you're playing, give it a deliberate tilt upward with a decent amount force. Also, if you bought it used, that could be a problem as well. Hope that helps.

Guitar Hero Guitar with Rock Band disc

It depends on which version of Rock band you are playing, Rock band 1 will not work with Guitar Hero guitars at all, but Rock Band 2 on the wii will except them. and for the microphone you have to have a seperate wiimote sync'd up tho count as the controller for the the game to recognize the mic.

Connect a guitar hero guitar as a second guitar to rock band

This cant be done for the wii sadly because the guitars can not be switched, so you would have to use 2rock band guitars for rock band and 2Gh controllers for Gh.

Syncing with Rock Band.

From Harmonix spokesperson: "Support for the GHIII guitar peripherals in Rock Band on the Wii was not possible without Activision's permission. Therefore, any questions regarding lack of compatibility with GH III hardware should be directed to Activision."
