This is generally an indicator that either the door was left open too long, dirty condensor coils and/or you have a issue with the condenser fan mtr not running or blade is jammed. pull the unit out and see if the fan in the back is running if not or if it is running slowly then it needs to be replaced ASAP!!!! This fan is design for two purposes to cool the compressor from over heating and to draft cooler air across the condensor coils and displace heat outside unit

Bar hot middle

Condenser fan is not working properly. It is easy to replace (just a few screws). Get done or do it yourself immediately though. This is a hazard as is.

We have a side by side that has a middle bar

Hi, this needs to be addressed before it causes you to loose your cooling, it is due to a hot condenser either dirty or a bad motor. I have put together some details on how to remedy this, follow the link below for instructions.

Let me know if you have questions or if it works for you.

Middle bar hot

Hi, Under normal operation the middle bar will be quite warm and under heavy load or higher ambient temperature's sometimes hot, yes it is normal. It is most noticeable following a defrost cycle, new "thawed" item's being placed in the freezer section ( or following someone standing there with the door opened for a lomg time trying to figure out what they want...i.e. my son. lol) and also very hot summer day's.(depending on your geography obvioisly). It is a means in which the manufacturer's has designed to prevent condensation from building in the area commonly referred to as a "perimeter heater/loop". Hope that help's and if so please rate the answer you received from me here at fixya. Thank you andgood luck. macmarkus :)

Kenmore side by side refrigerator is cold inside, but bar in the middle separating the frezzer from the fridge is hot to the touch

I had the same problem. I had just brush cleaned my coils and then it began. When I took the back off the fridge, I saw the fan was not spinning. I unplugged the fridge and then tried to spin the fan blades. Ihad inadvertantly bent a blade so it would not spin. I bent the blade back into shape and turned it on. The fan worked and very quickly the middle was no longer hot.

04 Jag S type middle air vents cool, sides hot. Recirc hot.

here is what you do. look on the passenger side front near the bottom of the radiator. there you will see the dccv or dual coolant control vavle. it will have your two heater hoses running to it and another hose from the radiator under it . once you have identified it , feel and look around it for any signs of leaking. barring any leaks, disconnect the connector, turn the ac/engine on and usining a tester , test for voltage on each of the three wires.if both outer wires have no current ( the middle wire yellow- will have current) then your problem is the control panel. if the control panel is not a navigation it is possible to easily repair it. replacing it can run from 600.00 to 1500.00 depending on who you goe to. oh by the way its still some data that you aint looked at. holla back if you need more help or a repair of the a/c control panel.
