Grease on clothes?

Is this a problem of just this make and model?
GE WSXH208A1WW

I need to replace this washing machine because the grease was damaging my clothes. The repair person said it was the bearings and too costly to fix. The machine is about 6 years old.

This is a 50 year old problem on washers.  All brands.  You just got lucky on this one.
If you buy a new one, consider a unit built by Whirlpool.  They also make Kenmore and others.

Only 7 yrs old and repairman says it needs a motor control will cost 380.00? GE WSXH208A1WW Its only me home and I don't wash more than 2-3 loads a week. Is this common?

That is about the right price. Here is a link to the part and you could replace the part yourself. Just remove the 2 screws that hold the front bottom kick plate on and remove it. The control board will be on the bottom right side toward the back of the machine.

Ge washing machine wsxh208a1ww, The dial seems to get stuck during all cycles. If you go out and manually turn the dial one click it will keeping going. But it takes forever to do a load of laundry since...

The bad news is that you most likely need a new timer. I get mine (used) from e-bay after looking up the parts at "Sears Parts" by model number. Sears will sell you new parts by model number for your GE.
Be blessed.

Hi! GE top load washer model number wwse5240 is leaving grease stains inside the machine after laundering and of course on clothes. Not sure how old this machine is.

Your transmission is leaking oil. It's probably 10 to 15 years old for the transmission to be leaking. It can be replaced but it's not a small job. Part 320 in this diagram is your transmission. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5224109&diagram_id=22255027#d22255027

Getting grease spots on cloths

When a GE washing machine gets grease on your clothes the problem is the transmission. Depending on the age of the washing machine it is not always worth replacing the transmission.
Better to invest into a new washing machine.

Leaking grease

All washer machines have a "transmission" - just like a car these units have oil in them and when the seals that protect the oil from going to our clothes is breake, oil finds its way to your clothes.
Transmission needs to be replaced.
