About 200 dollars but if there is a grinding noise or the machine will not spin or agitate the problem is more likely to be the motor coupling is broken between the motor and the transmission

Washer does not spin

Likely the lid switch is failed if it still agitates.

If no agitation - look into the transmission or coupling.

How do add more transmission oil to a whirl[pool washing machine?

You have to remove the transmission and open it up. If it leaked out, you have more problems like worn seals, etc. that would need replaced.

My washer will spin, but not fast enough to ring the water out

IF THE WATER IS PUMPED OUT BUT THE CLOTHES ARE NOT SPUN YOU MAY HAVE A CLUTCH ISSUE NOT VERY EXPENSIVE IF YOU FIND A GOOD COMPANY

You have a drive coupler. That is what makes it spin. It connects the motor to the transmission.
