The top freezer is making a loud buzzing sound. and only stops when you open the door. We think it's an issue with the fan, because that's where to noise is coming from. How can I make that stop?
Hello psimmons304,
Yes it does sound like a issue for the fan. What i would do is look up the model on google and type in replacement fan. you should be able to find it that way. If this doesn't answer your problem please post again.
Please post what you do and how you did it.
I look forward to your posts.

I had this same problem, and in my case it was due to incorrectly-closing freezer door. The fridge and freezer doors were rubbing very slightly, causing the freezer door to bounce back and not always close correctly. Excess ice built up in the fan as a result, causing it to make that whirring sound. Solution? Take the freezer door off and re-hang it, making sure that you position the door exactly before you bolt down the 2 top screws. If that doesn't fix it, try putting a shim on the lower freezer door mount.
Our top freezer on a 5 year old Arctica GE Profile is making a loud buzzing sound (sounds like a north wind blowing through the kitchen). We had a warranty, but were told that this is normal! Funny thing is it only started about 6 months ago.
