The FloorMATE will not dispense cleaning solution. I have checked all of the seals and trigger/dispensing rod is making complete motion with plunger. All other functions of the machine are working properly.
I had the same problem with my Hoover Floormate H3000 and found the solution elsewhere on this website. Try doing a search for Hoover Floormate H3000. The posted solution is basically as follows:
Remove the liquid dispenser tank and set it aside. Look into the cavity of the machine where the tank attaches and find the plastic "plunger" piece (the one on my machine is a blue/grey color) that is surrounded by a black rubber circle. Put a small drop of hot glue on the tip of this plastic "plunger" piece and let it harden. Replace the liquid dispenser tank and try the machine again. My machine dispensed liquid properly after this fix-it.
I really appreciate the poster who provided this simple solution!
I want to THANK YOU for the tip about the hot glue. I tried it and it solved the problem of no solution being dispensed. I now have a Floormate that works like it is supposed to. I am a bit disappointed with Hoover because I have not been able to find where they "officially" tried to notify people of this problem. The hot glue "drop" gives enough extra height so that the valve opens completely. Such a simple solution to a very frustrating problem!! Thanks again.
Could not imagine that the glue solution would work but was happy that it did. Thank you!
I tried the the hot glue but it came off. How long do you have to let it dry? I left it for a couple hours.

I feel kind of dumb but on the outside chance that someone besides me was overlooking the obvious: I wasn't squeezing the trigger. Just like the carpet cleaner, you have to pull the trigger to dispense the fluid. I'm probably one in 10 million who wasn't paying attention, but I thought I'd share.
And this was exactly what I wan't doing! LOL Thanks a bunch. Nowhere did I see it say, "Squeeze the trigger." And the Floormate works wonderfully! Thanks again.
thanks! I was doing the same thing!! its called user error! haha
Me too!
Same here! Thanks for posting this Easy overlooked solution!!

The solution listed above was perfect! I got out my hot glue gun and put a ring of hot glue to "build up" that plunger just a bit, viola! It now dispenses the appropriate amount of solution and I'm able to clean up everything :-) One note though, make sure you have a pencil handy just in case the glue decides to dribble a bit into the tube a bit, I just gave it a little swirl while it was still pliable and had no problems.
I have same model. Glue breaks down over time ,I found a little rubber cap to fit over the little plastic POST that extends INSIDE the round rubber fitting that the cleaning sop container sits on. I think maybe over time the spring inside container does not depress fully. The little rubber cap I actually found on an old metal frame that held two metal dog dishes in them. Once cap is on it makes post long enough to depress little plunger under soap holding container and then it works probably better than ever....Mine did.

Istha: With mine, the problem was that the drain plug was not being pushed into the solution tank far enough to release the solution. Pushing down on the solution tank while squeezing the trigger in the handle released solution. Since ours is a first generation Floormate, it seems the plastic frame has flexed. I've glued a 1/8 inch piece of plastic to the drain of the solution tank. So far, its working.
Larry6781: the exploded views i've found are not helpful, http://www.elkypro.com/hoops2005/vacuum_parts/hoover/h3000.html, but I've disassembled my Floormate 3000 removing teh nozzle and brushes. The top cover removes by applying gentle pressure on 6 plastic clips from the bottom. You'll see one by each wheel, two in the frontnear where the nozzle was attached and one small clip hidden in deep recesses mid way between the front and rear clips. The best tip I can provide is very gentle pressure to ehlp you find the less obvious clips. You can see the tube once removing the top cover. If you need to move the front wheel assembly, there is a black plastic pin that acts as a keeper and can be removed with gentle prying. This allows teh front wheel assembly to pivot, removal is much more involved. In lieu of removing the tube, did you try an air compressor to blow out the line, which you can remove from the spray bar assembly once the top cover is removed?
Hi, I have the FloorMate H3010 and ran into some of these problems and fixed the two major problems myself. First off a year ago I had the Non-Suction problem. There is only one solution that fixes the problem formed by wear & tear of using the machine every week. I went online to Vacpartswarehouse.com & ordered the "Hoover Retainer & Squeegee Assembly H3010 #59177150." This part gets worn down over time then therefore your machine loses suction to the floor. Cheap part, easy fix but a very common problem with Floormate owners.
Today I just lost spraying liquid from the dispenser tank. I did not have the time to try the hot glue gun trick. So I went to my parts bench and found a tiny nut driver to place over the tip of the plunger. Replaced my Dispenser Tank and my floormate started squirting liquid again like a champ. If I didn't find that nut driver I had lying around I would have tried the hot glue gun as I have one of those as well. So the answer to the spraying problem is that something needs to be added to the tip of the plunger so it can depress into the underneath of the holding tank further to let more liquid out of the dispensing tank.
Hope someone will find these two answers to be very helpful to solving their issues & problems.
I was not sure if the solution line was clogged or the plunger needed fixed and I wanted to avoid disassembly of this complicated machine. I cleaned both tanks, the filter, and the spring mechanism on the solution tank, a tiny piece of debris can cause a blockage that prevent solution releasing from tank to lines. (that prevented the clean water to dispense from tank in my carpet cleaner) To avoid breaking or damage a possibly working part, I looped some waxed string between the plunger line and rubber instead of hot glue. Still did not dispense solution. So I put some water tube without the solution tank on to see if there was a blockage in the line, but that i did not see anything. I filled the tank with water that I tinted with green food coloring and ran the machine. A small amount of water came out and than it ran dry. I did not see any green along the tubing. My last notion was hot water, almost boiling, again tinted with food coloring. If the line was clogged the steaming water should help dissolve it. I tested both solutions separately, and then together. The plunger was weakened by the clogged lines. I also needed to tighten the screws on the carrying handle, once it was working dispensing solution was dripping out of the back, and finally my machine was in perfect working order One issue caused by three problems that were fixed without anymore disassembling than required for normal use and no risk of damaging any working components. Hopefully this will be helpful to those in doubt like me.
Thank You!!! The glue gun worked. I bought my Floormate for $5.00 at a garage sale and it had worked well up until the solution quit dispensing. I only wish that I had read this suggestion prior to taking the whole ^^^$&(()** apart and reassembling after finding nothing amiss. Thanks again.
I have had my floormate for at least 5 years and I only now just ran into the problem of the water not coming out. I tried the hot glue trick and it worked like a charm! Just be sure you put it on the plastic plunger and not the rubber gasket! This is a wonderful product and if it ever quits working, I will definitely by another one!
Question - If I add the hot glue, the water just comes out continually. How do I help that?

DON"T BUY ONE!!!! If this many people have the same problem and the manual doesn't even addre ss it, then obviously there is a huge problemo!
I had mine for 10+ years before this happened to mine. For the service it has given it was well worth the money! The trick is NOT to leave solution in the machine and flush it with a small amount of hot water after each use...which is what you are supposed to do with every item that uses a sprayer with any substance that can build up, harden or clog.

I HAD THE NO DISPENSING OF THE CLEANER FROM THE CLEAN WATER TANK TO THE PICKUP TANK..I USED THE HOT WAX TO FIX THE PROBLEM..BUT THE GLUE WON'T STAY ON THE PLUNGER...SO I HAD A SHELF PIN WITH A PIECE OF RUBBER ON IT...I FILLED ABOUT HALF WAY...AND LET IT COOL...THEN I PUT THE RUBBER PIECE ON AND I WORKS AND STAYS PUT..THE SHELF PIN IS 3/16 OR 4.76mm
Ok when replacing the Spring stem and rubber seal. Put the spring on the stem set it in the hole of the solution tank carefully hold it steady then pull the stem out slip the rubber seal onto the stem with the cupped side facing down toward inside of the tank press it over the rim on the stem so it stays in place then take the stem slip it into the solution tanks hole inside the spring and press the rubber seal into the inside of the tank.
I posted this so no one else goes threw the trouble I went through until I figured it out for my self I lost the parts and did not remember how the thing went back together and could find no help anywhere. Good Luck, Ray
The hot glue work for me..WOW!!! thanks...
I have the H3010 model yet the same problem (liquid did not dispense). The trigger/plunger mechanism seemed to be working just fine. Wth this model there is no way to apply the hot glue fix to the tip of the plunger. However, I put some water in a hair dye applicator and put a few drops of water around the rubber gasket that the plunger depresses and now my floor cleaner is back in business!
I didn't have a hot glue gun but I did have a tire cap. Put that ****** on and it raised the peg enough to make the Floormate work again.
The manual does not address this problem
Ours has the same problem but i don't have the manual. does it say anything in there about it?

my hoover 3000 won't dispense cleaning solution
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BECAUSE I USED PINESOL AND IT CLOGGED UP THE TUBING. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO DISSOLVE THE CRUD OR CHANGE THE TUBING. THE UPPER PART OF THE TUBE IS EASY TO DISASSEMBLE BUT THE LOWER PART IS PRESENTING A CHALLENGE. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE AN EXPLODED DIAGRAM.
I have the same problem with the dispensing of the water. We have checked and cleaned brushes. The dispenser is working but the water does not come out or barely comes out.
we have only used the hoover cleaning solution.
this is the second one that this has happened to.
any advise?
Will not dispense any cleaning solutions. Modle 3000
Have had the same problem with it dispensing , but have found that if I apply a bit of pressure to the tank , push it down while pulling the trigger, it the solution seems to flow pretty freely. I think it must be something to do with the tank not making a good enough connection at its port. Its a bit awkward , but seems to work pretty well. I have checked about having it looked at and repaired and it was nearly the price of a new one.
My sister got the next in the series"Spin/Scrub 500" and has had a good many problems with it. I'm going to hold out a bit longer for the next generation. They are on the way...
Same problem husband took the whole thing apart, he's very handy and couldn't find a thing wrong with it. It does still pick up water and I hate to throw it out.
What does Hoover say about many customer spending 179.00 and just at one year the product quits working? We should all line up the broken ones outside the Hoover Customer center and ask for a repair or a new one. We did not get t our moneys worth out of this product It is obviously an enginerr design problem.
Thanks for the solution tips. My floormate is several years old and will no longer dispense the cleaning solution. With 5 dogs coming and going in the house, I need to get it working again. Mopping does nothing but redistribute the dirt!!
I have the same problem my FloorMate 300 wont dispense the liquid. How do I fix this? My husband took the whole thing apart and now cant get it back together. Is there a diagram for this. HELP
distribution tank seal has come off....how can I obtain a new seal?
I tried for 3 hours to clean out the machine that had been in storage for about 4 years. It all seemed to work just fine except for dispensing the solution. I got a hint from this site about the hot glue blob but I didn't think that would be all that permanent. I found, in my little drawers of junk bits and nuts and bolts a small brass sleve that is used when plumbing small diameter plastic hose. It is used when to are connecting a "T" joint to another line. It was the exact inside diameter and about 1/16" longer than the plastic peg in the machine. I just slipped it over the peg and it all worked perfectly. It is brass and so it will never rust. Thanks Guys!
It wont dispense solution
I used a piece of air line tubing from an aquarium pump-fit perfectly!
