I have recently purchased the above printer and the most annoying thing is it auto turns on when I boot my PC.I prefer to turn it on when I want to.
It is not listed in my PC start-up programs other wise I could disable it.
Some of my other printers gave me the option to disable auto-start. Canon ip3000.
Anyway to stop this printer from auto-starting in regards to this Make and model ??
Lexmark support is as slow as a Turtle on Valium. Haven't heard from them yet
Thanks
Push and hold the 'Start" button after it fires up to turn it off. It should stay off after that. If that doesn't solve your problem then if you have it hooked up via USB cable just leave it unplugged until needed. If you are running it through your WiFi you can always just change your WiFi setting to Manual instead of Auto.

The Pin code, if it's the 4 digit pin - is one you can create yourself to be used when scanning as a login, but is not necessary, it can be left blank, unless one was already entered upon installation. The manual can also be downloaded from the Lexmark site, type in your model # (ei: x4550) in the search box on the lexmark site, then technical support & then publications, you should find the "getting started" & "user manual".

It is highly unlikely to be a driver issue.
Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.
If you are lucky you should be able to find either a resetter-cli8-pgi5.html" rel=nofollow target=_blank>chip resetter around on the internet
OR
Even better empty cartridges that never need to be reset.
That's the option I like I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well
