Error code on Digital LG Dehumidifier - CH 1

My dehumidifier is an LG Digital - I think its a 45 pint - and it stopped working on me. I believe its either a 2006 or 2007 model. The error code on the digital readout shows CH 1. After it stopped working for a couple of days I would turn it on and off to see if it would start working again and it did once for a while but now it won't and still says the same thing. I don't have the model or anything right now because I am at work but i would think they would use the same error code on all their appliances. Thanks - I don't know for sure if thats the exact model I have.

Dehumidifier starts and then shuts off. Says bucket is full, and error code CH-1.

I get the same CH1 error message. I tried leaving it unpluged for hours and days. I still get the same message.

Change the sensor assembly, Part # 6877A30013M from Appliance Factory Parts in Englewood CO, about $30. Easy to change, plugs into control board, remove old temperature probe by pry T-well open with small screwdriver and then crimping back closed when new sensor is installed, about an hour start to finish, hardest part is getting all the covers off. Mine is back to working like new again!!

Thank you for identifying this solution. The sensor can also be found at RepairClinic.com for about $18.00 plus shipping. Their internal PN is 1462299. There is a new OE PN ending in "R" that replaces the old PN ending in "M".

I'll second the resolution - once the cover was off the replacement was easy and it's back humming again in the basement

SOURCE: fan running..just not dehumidifying all of a

Todd, there are 5 basic, yet solvable reason for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%. If you have a manually
controlled model, set the humidity extraction level on Maximum.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder
level
in basement applications . Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity connenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I figured it was compressor or refridgerant, but also thought possible some sort of fuse or reset. Time to clean it for real!"

What does error code CH 24 mean?

The CH67 code is generally related to either a fan motor failure or a blockage to the air inflow. It is recommended to check the filter, and make sure that none of the vents are obstructed. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at call_skype_logo.png800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

LD451EGL no water extraction

Apparently, the fans are running, but the compressor has shut down. It could be a failed compressor, or the charge in the system could have leaked out causing the compressor to shut down.

I just purchased a second-hand LG 45 pint dehumidifier. I need an owner's manual, free if possible........ Thanks

Jenifay, take good care of your dehumidifier and do all the routine maintenance that is recommended in the Owners Manual. As this model has been discontinued.

The following link will take you to LG's Knowledge Base. On the right of the page, you will see Dehumidifier Manual English. Click on that, and you can download and print the manual for a 45 pint LHD4SEL Dehumidifier.

Since I was able to get you a free manual, would you be kind enough to rate my response to you?
Thanks.
