Amana Distinction side by side

Ice machine quit working several months ago .. water doesn't make it to the machine it just flows right out of the bottom. I've tried to trace the line into the guts of the fridge but I can't find any wetness so I cannot determine where the water is coming from. Now the freezer and fridge are not cooling. I have a build up of frost on the lower part of the freezer but it won't get cold enough to create ice cubes. I have cleaned the front and back vents to make sure dust isn't impeding air flow but that doesn't seem to be the problem either ... HELP Thanks, JHampton

My freezer is not making ice the water is pouring from the bottom of the freezer (inside) and the below the crisper (inside) so I'm always mopping up water from the floor. I've shut off the water supply but I still have water flowing. Now, I have my bottom basket frozen all the way up on the sides with ice

When you say flows out of the bottom do you mean on the floor of the kitchen? Not cooling can be a sealed system problem if it happens in both fridge and freezer. The frost build up could be due to low refrigerant levels in the system. If possible, turn off the frige for a few days with the doors open to thaw any problem areas. Remove the lower panel in the freezer section to view the coil area. Turn the unit back on and watch for a "white frost" pattern on those coils. The pattern should be uniform and even across the whole coil area. If the frost suddenly stops on a coil (the rest are not frosted) you likely have a leaky system and a loss of refrigerant. This would be worst case. Unit must have about 17 degrees (or colder) to make ice (with water of course.... Sort of sounds like a couple different problems at the same time.

Have a scottsmanc1448 ice machine shows codes 1 an an 2 longharvest cleaned all water sensors descaled machine works threw all cycles water flows over both curtain coils ...

ok, what you have not told me was the temp of the ice plate. If you have an inferred thermometer now is a good time to use it. what is the Temp of the plates or ice collection try. Ice will never collect if it is not below zero C. 32F my guess is it must be below 28F. you need some kind to thermometer.

Amana side by side...ice maker only fills half of the tray...water is getting there but only for the first half just started a couple of weeks ago

if it worked fine and now this started most likely you have a bad water valve part number D7827204 and it's around 55 dollars.pull out the machine, remove the bottom panel and the water valve will be down on the right hand side.if you have a shop vac vac out and blow out the coil and clean all lint and dust from under the machine

My Aman side by side quit dispensing water. It

Does your fridge have a small tank inside the food compartment? If so, the water may have frozen in the tank and the problem can be solved if you take a blow dryer and warm the tank. That's what happened to mine and with a temp adjustment to keep the food compartment a bit warmer, the water doesn't freeze.

Ice and water don't work

This could be several reasons, water valve on back not working, thermostat in ice tray not working, heating element below ice maker not working, we just need to start with the dual water valve on back first. The side that feeds the ice maker needs the solenoid checked. I am ready to help you solve this, Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Amana Side-by-Side Fridge Model SBD21VPSE Problem started when water stopped flowing from in-door dispenser and ice maker stopped making ice. I emptied fridge and freezer, left unit off for several...

If there is a reset button on your ice maker try pushing it. Many ice makers have two holes for reset. A general rule of thumb is if the ice maker fingers are stopped in a slightly vertical position then your ice maker unit is working. If the fingers are stopped anywhere else then it needs some sort of attention or replaced. Make sure there is water, or ice in the ice maker tray, if not then the problem is with water supply.

WATER QUIT RUNNING IN DOOR

Okay. My appliance is around four years old. The first time the water quit working was about a year ago (ice cubes / dispenser was fine). I just let it go and didn't worry about it. One day months later, I found it functional again. That lasted about a month or two, then it recently quit again. Tonight, I located the water supply line coupling under the unit on the left side under the freezer door, about five inches from the hinge. I separated the coupling (push lock type) and pressed the water dispenser lever. After a few seconds, the water flowed out just fine. I re-attached the coupling, turned the freezer coldness selector to 0 (off) opened the freezer door and fetched my wife's blow dryer. I ran the dryer along the inside of the freezer door near the black door seal frrom the hinge up to the water/ice dispencer compartment. I also ran it all along the back of the dispenseer compartment to the handle side of the door as I am unsure of where the water line runs. After about ten minutes of this, I attempted to dispense water with no luck. I continued with the blow dryer until the plastic and even the door seal were very warm to the touch. I closed the door and attempted to dispense water once again, and this time it worked. I turned the coldness selector back on. This time I set the freezer to 3 and the fridge to 7. I ran several cups of water through the dispenser since it's been sitting in the line for a while before drinking any. As for the "reservoir," I don't where or if one exists, but heating up the inside of the door from hinge to dispenser worked perfectly. Hope this helps someone!

Cheers!
