Question about KitchenAid KSB5 Professional Stainless Steel Work Top Blender
The canister/jar of the blender is apparently stuck on the blending unit itself and cannot be removed. It just slides onto the central post which causes the blades inside the canister to spin. The blender works alright, but the canister cannot be removed for cleaning. This is quite a problem and of course, the owner's manual can't be located. Any advise on how to remove it from the blender will be appreciated.
This is a most unusual case, under the circumstances I would contact KitchenAid for a solution, have you tried turning canister clockwise and anticlockwise, should unlock in "anticlockwise position" if no luck contact the manufacture.

SOURCE: How do I fix or
Make sure the blade assembly is put together in the correct order. The blade needs to go through the gasket so that the order is pitcher glass, gasket, and metal blade base. Then the final plastic cap threaded onto the pitcher. If the gasket is not between the pitcher and the metal blade assembly, you will have leaks.
Also, check the gasket to be sure it's not cracked and that it doesn't have residue on it.
I hope this helps. If it does, please come back and rate my suggestion!

SOURCE: Blade not turning
I am looking at the same problem, the aluminum bottom part (on blade assembly) that contacts the black rubber on the motor part is no longer "attached" to shaft that drives the blade on top side. So like said the top and bottom "turn freely" but independent of each other.... not good, they should be one piece. Ebay does not have a replacement for this original part in my case and would have to buy a complete jar assembly. I will attempt to fix the original one by cutting a slot through aluminum and center shaft and dropping in a pin to make them turn together, with a spot of weld to hold pin to shaft... not sure how long this will last.... unless somene has a better idea to fix it?

Tips for a great answer:
Feb 03, 2017 | Blenders
Older KitchenAid blenders had a jar that was
made so the blade assembly could be removed for cleaning. On the newer models
the blender jar and the blade assembly are all one unit so you have to purchase
a new jar to get the blade assembly. All of this is dependent on which
model of blender you have.
