How can we fix the door of our Sharp Carousel Convection Microwave Oven Model R-9X56?

This appears to be an Australian model and these are the only spares I can find. They do sell the latches. If the hinges are damaged and causing this, you will feel movement. Looks like it is time for a new one.

Check the two fuses first, then if you have to check the cavity TCO, you will likely need to remove the oven from the wall.

If for some reason you don't still have your installation instructions, you can get them - and the parts list - here.

Sharp Convection Microwave won't heat and turntable won't turn.

I typically find it is not door hinge issues but door switch issues, especially with sharp. You may heve a little movenent in the door hinge and that is allowing the door hook to move up and down on the plunger for a door switch that is probably a bit melted due to bad connections. If you check the door switches and look for any browning around the terminals where the wires push onto the switch you will probably find an overheated connectoion. Replace the bad switch and run better wires and better termninals to the new switch and it will probably be fine.

I ordered and received a replacement door for my 2002 spacemaker ge microwave. The lady I spoke with said I would be able to install it myself. I figured there would be directions in the box explaining...

HELLO.

Below is the solution to replace your microwave door.

Unplug the oven from the outlet and/or shut off the gas valve. Open the old door completely and unlock the hinges by pushing the hinge out toward you and down toward the door. Slightly close the door and lift the door up and toward you.

Install the new door. Make sure the wall oven door hinges are aligned to go into the rectangular wall oven slots. Place the hinges into the slots. The hinges should "catch" on the slots comfortably.

Ensure the door is fully opened and push the hinge locks into an upright position. The two hinge locks should rest on top of the two hinges that are inserted in the wall oven slots.

Close the door and open it several times to make sure the door is properly opening and closing. Replug the oven back into the outlet and/or turn the gas valve back on.

Thanks.

I need to change the door on my Kenmore microwave oven

1.Unplug the microwave and set it on a table or workbench. If you have a built-in microwave, you may have to remove some mounting screws or retention clips to get the microwave out of the support bracket. Open the door and take out the glass tray.

2.Pry off a corner of the plastic panel on the inside of the door with a screwdriver or butter knife. Once it is loose, work the screwdriver or knife all the way around the glass and remove the panel.

3.Ask someone to hold the microwave door as you disconnect it from the hinges. Depending on the design of your microwave door, you may have to remove a set of screws or slide a pin out of the hinge to release the door. Remove and discard the old door.

4.Have your assistant hold the replacement door up to the hinges. Attach the door to the hinges by reversing the previous step. Snap the plastic inner panel into place around the glass. Move the microwave back to its original location. Insert and tighten the necessary mounting screws if you are working on a built-in microwave. Set the glass tray back inside the microwave and close the door.

Microwave makes a buzzing sound and will not heat.mo.#4450786a.

The magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 on high resistance range for short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

Faceplate of door by lower L/H hinge cracked. How do I remove the door to replace the Faceplate?

Front doors are attached inside the microwave at the top and bottom of the oven cavity. Top case has to come off using, likely, security torx screw drivers.
Remove the top hinge.
Remove the bottom hinge.
Door falls off.
Replace the front panel of the door.
Reinsert the lower hinge with the door, close and latch the door.
Holding the door firmly to the microwave, tighten the door hinge. Replace the top hinge.
(On some units, both hinges need to be installed at the same time. Use masking tape to hold the lower hinge - makes it easier.)

We need to change the door on our microwave. We have the new door, but can't find anything in the manual about removing the old door. It is a Frigidaire Gallery series above range microwave. Any...

The door should come off fairly easily. All you have to do on MOST microwave ovens is open the door all the way and lift straight up at the hinges. The door will come off the hinge pins.

On some models, there may be a small hinge pin on the top hinge that you remove, then lift up.

You may have to remove the grill panel above the door (if equipped) to allow for clearance for the door to come off.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope you find this helpful.
