Kenmore elite 110.42822 203 object between drum and tub causing load banging noise during spin. The object appears to be from a plastic shield at the front around the drum that is between the rubber gasket and the drum.

SOURCE: tub bangs and seems to be spinning out of round

One of the support arms on the back of the spin basket (stainless steel tub) is broken and causing it to spin in the fashion you describe. The only fix is to replace the spin basket. Using it in its current condition will cause serious damge to the outer tub shell. Let me know if you decide to replace it or need assistance locating a replacement tub. I can assist you in how to disassemble the washer and how to reinstall a new tub. Sorry...I wish this was better news.

SOURCE: My front load kenmore elite 110.45872 shakes during spin cycle

your basket shaft is broken or the bearing are bad it probably sounds like a freight train when it goes into high spin you need your washer rebuilt but it would be cheaper to buy a new washer. to rebuild the washer it will cost aleast 800 dollars

SOURCE: kenmore front load washer #44072 drum banging noise

I have the same problem...the solution is called new washer. I was told it could be overhauled to the tune about $600...barrings are going out. Mine is just 7 years old and that's disappointing.

SOURCE: kenmore front load washer #44072 drum banging noise

2 possible issues with your washer.
1 or both the support shocks or springs have broken
the drum would look off center even when empty
or rear bearring has worn out.
this is a very common problem with the fridgidaire washer... (this kenmore is a frigidaire model)
problem is caused by very hard water (well water) or improper use of detergent. this machine uses a High efficency type detergent, marked by "HE" on the detergent container

SOURCE: water drains during spin cycle, but tub does not spin and appears to have dropped down. Machine does aggitate.

If you can move the tub by hand laterally - the rear main bearing has likely failed - or the drum rollers are worn.

No it is very expensive to repair. You have to buy the whole rear portion of the outer drum if it is the bearings. Or a tub spider which holds the inner tub to the spindle that spins it. it is a very labor intensive repair. you would also need the outer tub seal/gasket for reassembly. If you are a skilled mechanic you may be able to repair it cheaper than a new one, but be prepared to spent the better part of you weekend working on it.

My kenmore 417 wahser making too much noise, it looks like the inner tub hitting the outer plastic housing. How can I fix it?

Have you tried moving the clothes around in the drum to balance the drum BEFORE you was them? If that works, you have solved the problem! Most people forget that when cloth gets wet it gets heavy so leaving the clothes unevenly placed in the drum dry will make a real problem when they get wet!

My Kenmore model # 20642 991 leaks water when it spins (mostly with large loads) and the barrel inside seems to be loose or something because it bangs hard against the inside - sounds like the whole...

A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub. The banging noise is due to being unbalanced. You may need to replace the balance ring on the top of the drum inside the washer. Watch this Video to see if this is how your machine is acting.

Washing machine

This sounds like the brakes have gotten some residue on them and are grabbing way too hard. The banging is the tub stopping too fast and the torque from this makes the tub bang into the cabinet. Just one bang at the end of a spin. Is this correct???

Irregular banging during cycle

these washers are a swine to dis-assemble and i would not recommend it unless you are experienced. on most indesit, the bearings are in a spider bolted to the outside of the tub. take the back off and see if you can localise the noise to the bearings worthwhile also taking the heater out (one nut in the middle), peer in and check no foreign object causing the noise
