Sthl fs 45 weedeater opened choke, turned on "on switch" pulled cord many times (after priming properly ) and nothing happens.
The Stihl FS45 has a particular way of getting started as do all the stihl products. We sell Stihl equipment in our store and service and repair them also. The normal starting procedure is to:
Be sure the switch is turned to the ON position which is the negitive sign (-). The (O) is the off position.
Press the primer bulb 3 times.
Move the choke lever to on.
Pull the starter cord three times only. If the engine fires, turn the choke to the off position and pull till it starts.
If the engine did not try to start during the first three pulls with the choke on, you must turn the choke off and pull till it starts.
Remember:Pulling more than three times with the choke switch on will flood the carburator on every stihl product thats on the market.
However, if the units still refuses to start, being its new and still under warrenty, return it to the repair shop that services Stihl products and they will repair it according to warrenty. All parts and labor should be honored at no cost to you. Please provide your receipt and serial number located on a silver tag located on the unit or the mechanic will get it off the unit when he works on it. Either way, it will most likely have to have a new carburator put on it. I hope this helps. Please comment back if this was helpful. Thanks; George

Chances are your carburator has dirt in it.
It doesn't take much to clog those little carbs.
Empty the gas tank and clean it.
Purchase a can of small engine carburator cleaner. Comes in a spray can for about $5 at Home Depot or Lowes.
Remove the carburator and disassemble it.
Soak the body in clean gasoline for about 15 minutes if you can agitate it do so to help the gas disolve any clogs.
Clean the ports with the spray cleaners to blow out any debris.
Reassemble and remount the carb.
Remove, clean and gap the spark plug
Refuel the gas tank with new clean gas

Suggest , Clean Spark plug with Gas and wire brush.... drain all gas, add new gas with correct gas:oil mixture..... spray Gumout/Carb cleaner in air intake and spark plug hole.. these are the easy solutions to try.. good luck -Doug
SOURCE: Poulan weedeater will only run with choke half way on
this could one or a combination of a few things
1 check inside the tank for dirt 2check that the filter screen inside the tank is not plugged3 make sure the gas feed tube is not restricted pinched in the case or kinked also you can try a simple carb adjustment.also check to make sure the plug is gapped to the right specs good luck and i hope one of these suggestions do the trick
SOURCE: Ryobi 720r weedeater. Starts, stalls, won't start.
When you rebuilt the carb did you remove and replace the welch plugs. If you did not, then that is probably where your problem is. Debris, varnish and corrosion can build up under the welch plugs and the unit will not pass fuel.

It's the muffler. Everyone thinks fuel, carburetor, mixture. They're
wrong. The muffler is clogged and the unit can't be tuned to high
throttle until you clean it.
Steps: Remove the back housing to access
the muffler. You may want to remove the gas tank to avoid a spill.
Remove the muffler (2 large screws). Remove the muffler door (3 small
screws). The screen should be cleaned using a pin (poke out any
hardened material). Most important: The muffler door is 2 parts. Pry it
apart and scrape off the burnt carbon that is clogging the exhaust
path. Re-assemble and start.
