My problem is opposite. The fresh food side works fine but the freezer side started blinking. I tried unplugging and re-plugging to reset. Now the freezer side temp has gone to 61. The fan works when I push the light switch in.

Littlern, Im thnking the 61 was your ambient temp on the refer side. The codes show up differnt than that. This is a very complicated machine. Sounds like a temp sensor has gone bad, the main board or the compressor overload itself. You can put it into a self diag mode by pressing power freeze and power cool together for 8 seconds. This is going to test all the sensors, fans, defrost cycles. The error that comes up will show as a - or | running clockwise on a digital 8 figure and then has to be decoded on a chart. For exampe: If the - is present on the bottom side of the 8 in the display, this means a a number 4 error which means a rerigerator fan error. It's gets pretty confusing, it's good you called the service tech. Make sure to get an extended warranty on this model..Catriver..post back.

Temprature blinking

Control board has gone bad....

What happens is the defrost is controlled electronically from a circuit board, when this goes bad, the freezer quits defrosting, and freezes the fans that circulate air through the fridge side of things.

To check this, unplug the entire fridge, leave the freezer open, wait for it to defrost a bit, if this causes the fridge to start cooling again when you plug it back in, then its the defrost. You should also see ice crystals on the back of the freezer just under the icemaker.

Freezer is very cold fridge is 61 degrees

You could have a plugged drain tube under the evaporator coils(behind back freezer panel) which is causing the ice in the bottom of the freezer(when it defrosts). If it also is pluggged with ice to the air return from the refgigerator to the freezer side it will cause the problem you are having. Or you have two problems, plugged drain tube and evaporator fan not running or plugged drain tube and damper control iced up......
If you have a back-up unit, leave it unplugged for a day with the doors open to thaw out, may not help, good luck though, hope this helps

A COUPLE THINGS U SAY FREEZER IS FINE FRIDGE IS NOT? THE FAN NOISE MAY BE DUE TO ICE BUILD UP DUE TO A DEFECTIVE BAD DEFROST TERMINATOR. WHICH EVENTUALLY WILL BUILD ICE UP IN FREEZER AND FRIDGE? HINDER COLD AIR CIRCULATION. ANOTHER THING TO LOOK AT IS UR FREEZER AND FRIDGE THERMISTORS AND UR COLD CONTROL THERMOSTAT. EVEN UR AIR FLOW DAMPER CONTROL VENT AND KNOB SETTINGS? ARE THEY TO FAR OPEN OR CLOSED? ARE U ABLE TO HEAR THE FAN AND COMPRESSOR RUNNING? ANY CLICKING SOUNDS?

I have a side by side refrigerator/freezer by samsung and on the digital display the fridge temp (currently set to 2 degrees) is flashing.what does this mean many thanks

If the blinking continues, you may need to “reset” the Refrigerator. Try unplugging the appliance, wait for
around 10 minutes and then plug the power cord back in.

Samsung RS2545SH Refrigerator

Diagnostic mode will say what any electronic issues are. Check to see if there is, if any, frost build up on the rear panel or ports. If the unit had made any noise in the refrigerator. This unit may have a switching valve for the twin cool, so it could be an issue there.

Refrigerator malfunction

samsung units have duel cooling. that means there is a evaporator in the freezer and the fresh food section. it is possible that the temp sensor in the refrigerator section could be bad. and they have been known to have defrost problems there to. the samsung is a complicated unit and its hard to describe how to repair since there is a lot of electronics that control everything. the best thing I could say is to unplug the refrigerator for a few minuets. sometimes this will reset everything and start the unit back to the factory settings. if that does not work I would call for service. hope it helped you some
