I have just purchased a Salton SFP 600 food processor , when you assemble all the items and switch the processor on , it does come on , but if you remove the shredding/mixing bowl and press the small black plastic clip at the base where the bowl locks in , it works. what do i do to make it work

I just had the same problem! I gently tapped the the bottom of the handle with a hammer in a clockwise direction. It finally unlocked and is now working fine. Good luck!

you need the blade in the unit in order to mix the pie crust. but do not over mix. its best to do it in short pulse bursts. otherwise the crust will come out resembling fluffy playdough and will not holdtogether during baking
