My watch has model number 504-tsk085, labeled Timex 1440 Sports, and Timex provides the incorrect manual for it online. I wrote these instructions after careful experiment:

Upper left button: press to switch to a stopwatch, or...

Press and hold to enter alarm setting mode. Once flashing press again to enter time/date setting mode.
-- you can only do one or the other without exiting the setting
mode (time or alarm set).
- within the setting mode you use the two right side buttons
in obvious ways to set times/dates
Exit setting mode by pressing upper left again

Lower left button: light
Upper right button (when not setting time): reveal date while pressed

Lower right button (when not setting time): reveal alarm time while pressed.

ALSO: WHILE lower right button is pressed you can change alarm
on/off and chime on/off through the four possible settings by
secondarily pressing the upper right button repeatedly.

SOURCE: need instruction manual for Timex 1440 sports

I have this watch, it think its the same one, the manual on the website didnt work for me either :D

okay

To change the Alarm
Hold mode whilst on the time section.
then start/stop changes between hour and minute, adjust changes the number.

To get off that press mode again.

To change the actual Time
Go on to the stopwatch section Hold Mode, if it shows you the alarm press mode to change to time. The seconds should be flashing, press start/stop to change between hour minute second date, and adjust changed the number.

I really hope that helped even if its a month late :D

How do i set the time on 1440 T5K085

The instructions that came with my watch didn't work but after playing around with the buttons for a while i final came up with this: Press the mode button for 2 secs. The first display is the alarm. Press mode again and the time shows with the seconds flashing. Use the set button to change seconds, minutes, hours. Use the start/stop button to change from seconds to minutes to hours. This will then take you to change the month, date and day of the week. Mode takes you back to the start (time display). The alarm is changed in the same way.
To change from 12h clock to 24h clock keep the set button pressed (the alarm time is displayed) and press mode, the 'A' will disappear when in 24h mode
When the time is displayed press the start/stop button to show the date.
Not sure how to use the countdown timer or how to stop the alarm yet though!

Press top right button (start/stop) to cycle through hour, minute, date, etc. and press bottom right button (adjust) to change the number which is flashing. Press mode to finish

Stting the time

http://assets.timex.com/instructions/w3Instr.pdf

Try the link above for a manual.  It is NOT the same watch, but does have some buttons named similarly to the 1440.  Go to the Time and Date section.  The key was to hold down the SET button till the seconds flashes, then use START/SPLIT to adjust the value and MODE to toggle to the next field etc.
Best of luck
