I have a 52 inch Hitachi rear projection tv. Its only a year and a half old ( and out of warranty of course). The problem started gradually, sometimes I would have picture but when I turned the tv off and back on again later, it would only show vertical colored lines. Now I get no picture at all, just the colored lines. The screen also "blinks" with the linesI've tried unplugging it overnight hoping it would reset itself but that didn't work. All 3 lamps are on. I don't have the money to have it repaired right now and 3 little kids that want their cartoons...Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Bad Capacitors in the Power Supply could cause this. This Chassis has be famous for bad capacitors through out many boards. If you are not comfortable with working on the unit, and most are not, I would call a professional. The Chassis may need to be sent to Mitsubishi to be refurbished. This is a expensive repair and it would be advisable to call a Mitsubishi Professional to confirm diagnoses. Mitsubishi's Customer Service Number is 1800-332-2119. They also may be willing to help with the cost of repairs.

Hi,
If the led light flashes green continuously, the fault came from the DM power supply. The faulty parts there are the electrolytic capacitors. Let me know if your handy with electronics and I will assist you to fix it yourself.

This is an indication of a bad Optics engine one of the LCD's in the light engine is bad. The only way to repair this is to replace the light engine assembly.
