Over the last few months I have manged to ruin loads and loads of clothes due to colours running. This has come as a horrible shock as I only ever wash things at 40 degrees...or so I thought. Today, having checked oh so carefully that the dial was set to setting 4 (40 degree wash), I happened to feel the washing machine when it was on to discover it was really hot - at leat 60 degrees.
The dial must be misaligned - as number 3 is 60 degrees.

I have had the same problem for about 6 months. I have been sticking duct tape on the inside over where my clothes were getting hung/caught. It works :) but the heat makes the duct tape peel off so you have to keep replacing it. We finally had to call a repairman when the drum started making a horrible noise. He came out this morning and said one of the "sliders" the drum rolls on had broken. He said when the sliders begin cracking it can make a very slight gap where the clothes were getting caught. I have run 3 loads this morning and had only one dishtowel get hung whereas before multiple items in each load were doing it. He said there are multiple sliders so it may happen again.
He also said the clothes getting hung was an indication of a breaking slider so you may want to call a repairman to head off your drum doing what mine did. It cost me a total of $105 and I live in SE Texas.
You have taken the necessary steps to reduce the lint problem. It seems they have not worked sufficiently. Another lint factor is due to HARD WATER. You may have to disassemble the washer and remove the inner wash tub. On the bottom of the wash tub is a self cleaning lint filter. It may be gummed up with detergent and lint not allowing it to do its job. It will have to be manually cleaned.
...at the end of the wash, I then set the dial to DRAIN, then press start. I wait for a special drain cycle to run. Then, I set the dial to SPIN, and wait for a special spin cycle to run. The clothes are much dryer and spun out after this process. I'm not happy with the washer, it came with my new condo. BUT, I'm trying to learn how to use it.....
go to your local appliance store and ask for "Affresh" washer cleaner. works excellent. If hubby need to get into the machine have hime clean out the pump. You probably have **** in there thats also contributing to the problem. good luck
This problem happen to me a few months back--washer was 6 months old. A technician came out and told me that I must have loaded the washer after the water was in the tub. He stated that I must load my washer prior to running the water in because the water fill amount is based on weight; therefore it was now weighing too much. Go figure...have always loaded the washer with water first and clothes last. I always put clothes in first then the water--I must say, the problem has not reappear.
