These LCDs have a feature to turn OFF after some time if they do not sense any signal getting into the TV, that is why when you use it as a PC monitor and leave ON; it will turn OFF by itself.
The short term solution to make the LCD power up properly when using it as a PC monitor would be to unplug it when it turns OFF by itself and plug it back in.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

The LCD's power supply overheats and make the whole circuity shutdown, that is when you are not able to do anything until you unplug it and leave it OFF for a while. A few capacitors in the power supply are most likely giving up on it due to the heat around them. If you open the power supply, visually inspect the capacitors for leaky or bulging conditions and replace as needed.

Most service techs will charge you to give you an estimate. The estimate is about $30.00 just to tell you what is wrong with your TV. From that point on is your decision if you want to get it repaired.

If the repair cost is about 1/3 of what you paid for the TV still worth it to get it fix. I have a couple of these LCDs and they have a great picture.

Insignia IS 26 Inch Lcd TV Problem no signal VGA Input

Most likely this is a resolution issue. Set your computer's output resolution to one that is compatible with the TV, usually 1366x768 for a 720p Insignia TV. More info can be found here.

Screen went blank after hooking computer to it

Let's cover the obvious.

The TV works fine with other inputs (cable TV), right?

The laptop is plugged into the VGA port on the TV and the input setting is set to "VGA", right? (or does toy computer have an HDMI port that you are using?)

Is it a laptop or a PC?

If it's a laptop and the TV is connected correctly and functioning otherwise, you need to turn on the remote display port of your laptop. It's a key sequence that toggles from laptop -> external -> both.

If it's a PC, it might be a signal incompatibility. Try different resolutions or refresh rates.

Good luck.

Proscan 32'' VGA port; TV says not supported on VGA input

Sounds like your resolution on your computer is set too high for your tv to accept. Try putting your computer resolution down to 1024x768 or lower and see if that works.

VCR picture with INSIGNIA 26'' lcd tv

I would check if you have selected the correct tv input on you remote. the shadow movement you see may be bleeding over from another input. on your TV remote you will see "input", keep clicking it, delaying a little each time, until you get to the correct input you are connected to.

Hooking up to my computer

You will need to buy a cable like the one in this link. Any computer store should have them.
When you connect the computer and the LCD, press input with your remote to go to VGA and that should work.

Insignia LCD HD tv with "No Signal/VGA input"

Your Television need to be reset. Take the back off carefully, locate your picture lamp, somewhere in that area should be your reset button. Your television needs to be powered on, so be very carefull not to touch anything other than the reset button, hold the button in until your TV goes blank, then release and put your cover back on. That's it, your TV should be back to normal. You might have to run your setup again.

Insignia LCD tv 32".....

It's either the VGA cable you are using has a bad pin or the RGB/Color Scheme is set wrong. So try another VGA cable or try the LCDTV on another PC.
