Hello friend

in samsung driver cd their have a software SMARTRU that is the driver for scaning function so you have to install this driver.if u didnt found it
go the www.samsungusa.com and download it.

The problem is the firewall of your computer because its blocking the scanner to work better. Check the firewall of your computer from it is control panel if its on. If it is on, click the exception tab then check the network scanner tool and scan to pc box. Just put acheck on all scan or scanner word.

Sorry to have missed your initial posting...

In any case, to my understanding, this particular printer is likewise capable of USB connection. Perhaps you can try connecting it pure USB and go through the installation again. this might simplify interface and communications between notebook and scanner/printer.

If for some reason you would want to retain Printer/Parallel to Notebook/USB, you need to check your Imaging Devices in the notebook's Device Manager and verify that all drivers are installed for the Samsung SCX-4521F. There should be no yellow or red marks. If there are or if the Samsung SCX-4521F instance is not present, you may need to reinstall using the Add Hardware Option in the Control Panel. You may need to manually select the imaging device/scanner. This holds true if you are using Windows XP.

If you are using Vista, you may need to download all the Vista drivers from the Samsung website. Further, pls be informed that to my knowledge, Vista has certain issues with USB ports. Microsoft has issued a patch/update specifically for this concern. It may be downloaded from here or here.

goto www.samsung.com and use the search box at the top right and type in the exact model, the x to substitute for numbers/letters isnt helpful so type the exact model in there and it should have a page to download the drivers

I just purchased a samsung scx-4623 and it shows in my control panel that it is installed but when I select to scann on the scanner panel it says its not connected even though the test during installation...

you may deinstall the software from your computer and install it new after, then try, if it is still the same problem go to samsung web side and write your modell name scx4521F then go to download side and download: 1. Printer driver; 2. Scanner driver; 3. Dr. Printer,
when you download the soft ware do not install this direkt from down load, say save then you will find the soft ware in your download folder and you can install this soft ware from this folder as many times you need it. Choos allways the newest version of the soft ware mentioned on the samsung download side for your printer modell, hope this solves the problem.
