JVC AV-48WP30: CONVERGENCE PROBLEM!!! HELP!!!

I woke up this morning with my Tv has shadowing pictures and the top left screen has waving red shadows. I checked the convergence and the green + and blue + are apart with each other, i tried moving it manually and all the right +(3,6,9) where properly aligned, +4 was aligned too but all the remaining esp the middle + (2,5,8) i cant move them using my remote arrow keys...

can anybody help me solve my problem?..how to do the what they call AUTO convergence? help me the proper way to fix the problem.

THANK YOU.

U have convergence board issues. Sometimes over time the solder joints on the board go bad or develop minute breaks. U might try removing the board and resoldering every thing you can get it. U can also consider baking the board in an oven at around 270 degrees for about 8 minutes to melt all of the connections on the bottom of board.
Then remove, allow to cool, cross your fingers and see what happens.

Replace STK convergence IC's w/OEM or better parts.Senior tech soldering ability needed. Ex==Steel jumper wires feeding b+ to conv. IC's need resolder to prevent call-back.Also, best re-alignment done in service mode==consult service literature.

SOURCE: jvc av-48wp30 convergence problem

1. if the 1.5 ohm resistor was open, then you may have fried your new convergence ic's. Sorry
2. bettween a 1.5 - 1.9 ohm resistor will work
3. press sleep button, set to 30
hold down video status button and press display on remote
select convergence from the new menu and hit OK.
Do fix the convergence before you try to align the convergence or it will look horrible after you get the circuit fixed and will be harder to align.

The white button is there because the DCU (digital convergence unit) can be erased by holding that button and turning the set on.
I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THAT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope this Helps.

Red shadows in 48" JVC rear projection

Well you better be pretty handy with a soldering iron. The convergence output IC's need to be replaced. These are large plastic pack IC's with 18 or so pins that are soldered on the underside of the circuit board. These IC's are mounted to large metal heat sinks.

Blue shadow across my screen

Go into the convergence function from the menu and see if it works. If it does not then the convergence board has a problem. JVC still sells the part.

Red and Blue shadowing (Where are my 3d glasses)

There are two convergence IC's that are bad and need to be replaced, as this happens to almost every rear projectionj set ever made. They are stand up IC's , on a heatsink and they start with STK. They are soldered into place and this set has no user replaceable parts inside of it. If you have no solid state repair experience, you really should call out a trained tech to assist you in this repair. A TV set is no place to be diggin and experimenting inside of.

JVC AV-56WP30 red "shadow"

The problem called Convergence problem. Unfortunately, some sets have manual convergence boards - which means you can do nothing but replace it and adjust the manual controls on the board itself. But some of the newer ones (Maybe yours) can be accessed through a service mode. So, give it a try and look for a service mode in your set... Good luck!
