Usually laptops have vga conector for external display, you may need a cable, vga cable.

vga cable varies depends on the connection that you have on the tv, if your tv supports vga connectors thats great, some tv doesnt have that option, thats where adapters go in to adapt what ever ports or connections you have on your tv.
some of the cable adapters that you might need.
vga to hdmi.
vga to rca.
vga to dvi.

hope that helps.

How to hook up Cables

Depends on what kind of cables you use. If you use an HDMI cable, then you simply connect one end to the DVD player to an unused HDMI port on the TV. If you are using a 5 cable Hi Def cable then you connect the outputs of the DVD player to the inputs of the TV color for color Red to red, blue to blue, green to green and red and white cables for the audio. If you are only using a cable with 3 connections, then yellow is for video out from the DVD to component in on the TV and then the red and white cables for the audio.

Clear but only blue/green color

Do you have a component cable hooked up to the TV? (cable with RCA connections Green/Blue/Red/White/Red)

If so you want to check that the red cable is tightly connected to both ends (TV and whatever it is connected to).

Good Luck...

Trying to hook up magnVOX 15'' HD TV MONITOR and not sure abbout ports on back of pc

depending on the model of pc and what graphics card you may have. But generally, just match the color coded port to the color coded cable. VGA(blu), HDVI(long and white), Composite (white, yellow, red). If you are using VGA, or HDVI, you will need and additional cable to connect the audio from the pc to the TV. It has two male ends that look like headphone plugs that you plug into PC's green or blue audio ports. If you have a 7.1 audio card, you may want to used home entertainment system for audio but not being connected to the TV means you cannot record TV unless you have a TV tuner built in to PC.

How do i hook up a nintendo to my tv which cords go where and can someone walk me through it

Round peg into the round hole. Red peg on the red slot. etc. If the wire from the nintendo doesn't fit the slot on the tv then you're in the wrong slot. if the wire from the nintendo fits the slot on the tv (and is the same color if you are using red/white/yellow rca cables) then you're good. here's a hint on connection types (you will not mix): 1. RCA (red/white/yellow round connectors) Red=right audio sound White=left audio sound Yellow=video connect to the slots that look like they want some. 2. Coaxial (stiff cable with a pinner poking out of the end -- same cable that connects you to cable tv) just hook it up by itself; it carries audio and video. 3. Component (red/green/blue)(red/white) two 'bundles' red=red component of video green=green component of video blue=blue component of video red=right audio white=left audio 4. VGA + (red/white) VGA=video (computer monitor cable) red=right audio white=left audio 5. HDMI (flat hdmi cable. you spent $30 on this 3 foot ****) HDMI=audio and video 6. hugs and kisses hugs=video kisses=audio (both sides)

Hook up of dvd to tv

hey I think you need to use component cables blue green red from the player to the tv, make sure the blue green red ports are also on the tv, note: red yellow white composite cable will not interchange with blue green red component cable or connection.

simplify- blue green red= component
red white yellow=composite

*wires must match colors on both tv and player inputs.

then set your input on your tv to where you conected the cable.

Connecting laptop to tv

1. If your tv has a PC input, use a vga cable, from any normal computer monitor.

2. If you use those HD connectors, match them to the correct colour coded inputs on the tv.

In each case, do all the connecting with the computer POWERED OFF. Then when connected, boot the computer, and allow Windows to auto-detect the 'new monitor', as it will 'see' it.

Then you shoud right click on your desktop, choose properties, and goto 'settings'. From there you will see monitors 1 and 2. click on the new monitor and 'enable' it.

You also have the option of 'extending' windows to the second monitor, as well as making this your 'default monitor'. Experiment to see what best suits your needs,

Erik.
