Hi, Sounds like a bad color wheel. If you know what your doing you can get one on E-bay for around $170. In the past the whole light engine would need to be replaced $700 ish. Good Luck
Disconnect power to dryer. Open door, remove phillips screw from 4 and 8 O'Clock positions, close door. Use putty knife (preferably a plastic one to prevent scratching) to push in the two clips holding the top to the front panel, then swing the top back, revealing the phillips screws holding the front panel onto the body of the dryer. Remove them and un-hook door switch and drum light connections, allowing total removal of dryer front panel. Remove 4 phillips head screws retaining front drum support and lift it up just a bit to remove it. Reach back under drum to the left side to release belt, allowing drum to come out of dryer.
Maybe the antenna that you are using is not picking up sound from the channels. It could also be the cable. If it makes a humming noise, it means that the speakers are getting electric current and that they SHOULD be okay. It also could be your tuner. Maybe check it all out at some tech place like best buy. Those guys can help
Does the DVD player still work, even though it's making the humming noise? The humming noise may just be normal for that machine. Turn your TV up louder . If the player doesn't work, the drive is broken, and you would have to send it to Phillips if your warranty is still working. If the Player still works, check to see if the disc is warped or cracked, this'll make the drive unstable, and make the noise.
The most common cause of the hum/grinding sound, and often poor cleaning - is a blocked filter or debris stuck below that filter.
Pretty easy fix:
Get a phillips screwdriver near by. Pull out the lower rack (the upper rack can come out if you pull the little gray thingeys on the front of the upper rails.)
Remove the lower spray arm -- just pull it straight up.
Remove nine silver screws from the sump area that holds the filter down. Pull the filter up and out. Rinse the filter as best you can.
While the filter removed, with a flash light inspect all over the sump area - looking for stuff that should not be there and clean it out. Watch out for broken glass!
Replace the filter, screws and the spray arm. Fire it up and check your results!
Good Luck!
Mine does this too, just bought it yesterday and noticed the sound this morning, I guess because the house was quiet, now it's the most annoying noise ever. I have been searching for solutions all day, one forum said to go to the picture settings and turn the light sensor to "OFF"...Haven't gotten home to try it yet, but I hope this helps BOTH of us!
