Most washing machines are based on the same principles: there is an inner drum with holes around the entire drum walls, this is where you place your clothes. This drum sits inside of another drum that has a drain hole at the bottom of it that connects to a pump motor. When the machine is in spin cycle it uses centrifugal force to remove the water from the clothes and it escapes the interior drum via the holes and is captured by the drum with the drain in it. The pump motor has an impeller which may be made of plastic or metal which often fails resulting in the issue you have described. Depending on your make and model it may be possible to replace the impeller itself or you may have to replace the entire pump. While most are easy fixes they are labor consuming. Cleaning of the filter in front of the machine will be of little consequence to resolve the issue. I hope this assists you and thanks for using Fix Ya. Please let me know if I can be of anymore assistance.

Door will not open after washing cycle ends on SamsungWF8704RSW washing machine

If water still in machine saftey feature will not let door open. Machine may have been over filled with washing, or filters may need cleaning, or both. Set the machine to do another spin cycle, sometimes needs to beredone several times. Clean your filter in normal way but be careful as water in drum could drain through filter.

Despite using less washing liquid than recommended i am still getting quite a lot of suds left at the end of the cycle and dark clothes have noticeable white patches on them from the liquid not having...

Hi.

Here few tips:

Check the type of detergent used. Try changing detergent.
Open the drain filter cap and check for blockage. Clean the filter. Access is in front at the bottom.
Check the drain hose at the back. If height setting is incorrect water with flow back inside the appliance creating the problem.
Access the pressure switch and clean the pressure hose connected to the switch. A defective pressure switch may result in under-filling, leaving more detergent than normal at the end of the cycle.

Hi, I have a zanussi wwashing machine model= ghg1200apm. The door won't open. I plugged out the machine after the wash and when i plugged it in again, the door wont open. Can you help me?

Hi.

The door does not open because there is water inside the machine. To open the door you need to empty the tub first.

To empty the tub disconnect power, open the door at the bottom of the machine's front side, unscrew the drain filter cap and collect water using a container.

Usually that is enough to allow the door to open. If the door does not get released, try running a cycle again.

If still no luck, then the door is locked either because the pressure switch detecting water level is clogged with soap or because the power surge has damaged some component. In that case the machine must be partially disassembled to reach the back of the door opening mechanism. The door latch is reachable either from drain filter access or from top of the appliance.

Emptying water through the drain filter and/or restarting a cycle usually is enough to release the door lock.

Regards.

A load of wash got "stuck" at 22 minutes left on the wash cycle. I turned off the machine. I turned it back on. Now the door is locked. How can I unlock the door and restart the machine?

Try starting a cycle and then cancelling it. Could also be problem draining. Check pump filter. I have had this twice on my indesit washing machine. You have to take the front cover off the bottom and then unscrew the filter to check it. Be careful as it will gush with water if the drum isn't drained.
Check the drain pipe for blockage by disconnecting far end of it and lowering to floor level (in a bowl). If no blockage then water should drain out of the drum by gravity.

How to get rid of the stale smell from the atf8000 front loader washing machine

first things first we need to purchase a cleaning tablet from local grocery store called affresh tablets in your laundry detergent aisle ,

then clean out filter sump assymbly in bottom corner of washer som washers have an axcess panel in the bottom righ or left hand corber uncrew filter cap and drain in to bucket or a shop vac .

clean debris out of filter and reinstall the filter screw cap in tightly ..

check your console for a clean cycle option in your wash cycles an select put one affresh tablet inside of washer drum and run cycle..

if you dont have a clean cycle thats ok select your hotest water wash cycle or sanitary cycle put one affresh tablet inside washer drum and run cycle ...

after cycle completes always leave waher door cracked open when washer is not in use ,,, reccomend running an affresh cycle once every month or if u notice stagnant water smell the more often you wash with hot water the less chances of smell

I have a WM2277HS TROMM Washing Machine and at the end of the cycle the water does not drain nor does it spin. Therefore, the rinse & spin cycle only rinses but does not drain the water nor spins. ...

Sounds like a bad lid switch. Check to see if you hear a "click" from the switch when you open and close the lid. If you do not, then you should replace the lid switch.

Door locked and will not open. i ran an empty cycle to see if that would work and it doesn't.....thanks! Margit

IF water is left in machine then door wont unlock, check pump, run drain cycle. If pump runs but doesnt remove water, then check filter at bottom (small door on bottom front) water will come out when this is done. If washer is completely empty of water and door locked then you may access lock release tab from bottom or reaching down from top to lock asm. Then check lock
