My Hot point side by side has water and ice dispencer, when we use the ice maker the trap door stays open we have to close it by pushing it with our finger. We tried some lubricant on the hinges still stays open. We were wondering if there is a solinoid that acuates the door closed.
It sounds like your ICE Dispenser door is stuck partway open. Defrost the access door, ice bucket and crusher then check the Ice Dispenser door to be sure it fully closes, otherwise cold air will constantly drift out and freeze the whole mechanism.
the door that the ice comes down to fill glass is not closing; the ice chute door just above the lever to fiil glass with ice it is either jamed with ice or is broken and needs a new repair kit.you can inspect by opening door and look at approx. 3 inch door that ice falls threw to see if closed.warm air causes ice to form.
Sounds like your saying that the ice dispensor flap is not closing completely which will cause frost on the inside shoot and on the ice bucket . Could be because of a broken guide ( clear plastic piece attached to the ice dispensor arm ) . Need brand and model number to help .
I would check for an electric "flap" that opens & closes when ice lever is depressed. My GE has one and it has been fouled before causing the ice to be stuck inside the door. Hope this helps!
You said, The ice maker in my whirlpool gold refrigerator Model No, GR2FHTXTBOO, is not working.
How old is the fridge? When have you last changed the water filter. Should be down below at the front grille! Try these tasks!
If the ice maker is not producing ice or not enough ice Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open. • Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce water flow. Straighten the water source line. • Ice maker turned on? Make sure wire shutoff arm or switch (depending on model) is in the ON position. • New installation? Wait 24 hours after ice maker installation for ice production to begin. Wait 72 hours for full ice production. • Freezer door closed completely? Firmly close the freezer compartment door. If the freezer compartment door will not close all the way, see "The doors will not close completely." • Large amount of ice recently removed? Allow 24 hours for ice maker to produce more ice. • Ice cube jammed in the ice maker ejector arm? Remove ice from the ejector arm with a plastic utensil. • Water filter installed on the refrigerator? Remove filter and operate ice maker. If ice volume improves, then the filter may be clogged or incorrectly installed. Replace filter or reinstall it correctly. • Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure.
Let me know how it goes! Huuum Please remember to leave a rating!
