When I try to print, there is a grinding noise and printer screen says: Error Paper Jam MP E However, there is no paper.. would be please help me fix it?
Mine use to do this, I changed paper type and it has not done it since. I was using recycled paper now I use HP All in One printing paper for Lasers and I do not have the noise.
The problem is the spring loaded platform underneath the paper. It's getting stuck and not going all the way up to align the paper with the paper path. As a result your roller is slipping on the paper (grinding sound) and even with slippage it begins to move the paper but the paper is pushed into the back wall of the printer, resulting in a Paper Jam E error. To resolve, do the following:
1) Turn off and unplug the printer2) Open the front paper door and remove the paper from the paper tray.3) Reach into the paper tray area and with your fingers spin the roller (round piece in back center of the paper tray area with a black piece of rubber on it) down and forward until the spring loaded platform (the floor of the paper tray area) lifts completely up. When the spring loaded platform is free and raised - stop moving the roller.4) Push the spring loaded platform down (towards the bottom of the printer) and remove your hand to let it spring up again. Do this a number of times, this simple action in itself may free up the resistance in the platform and resolve your problem.5) You'll notice that the platform rides on two metal posts (one on the left and one on the right). Put some lubricant on a swab and lubricate these posts. DO NOT USE A PETROLEUM BASED LUBRICANT LIKE WD-40. Instead use a teflon or silicon based light lubricant. Epson recommends their own custom lube called O-8 but it's impossible to get.5) Replace paper, plug in printer, turn on printer and print something, Your problem should now be resolved.
