Originally I had red and green lines around the edges of faces and things that had a metallic look to it. This morning, I turned on the set and had rows of two across the screen of red/green lines from the top to the bottom of the screen. After turning the set off and back on later, the lines disappeared but I expect I have not seen the last of this problem. Any ideas?
Somehow when switching between the tv and the dvd my wife encountered the pink and green, thin, parallel, vertical lines on the screen. The picture was visible with the lines. I turned the tv off and on but the problem persisted. Unplugged tv for about two minutes and after plugging it back in and turning it on the vertical lines very gone and the picture was back to normal.
It will probably eventually come to the following:

Alternatively, it is possible the address selectors of the plasma display controller are about to go out.
When the defect becomes permanent post or send a picture and we'll help you narrow it down.
The first issue is totally resolvable, the second is totally not.
Good luckl

The power supply in these sets have had bad electrolytic capacitors which short and actually blow their top because of increased pressure. Only part of the switching power supply is now running so you may see a power light but nothing else. I am not sure what Vizio would charge to replace the cap or supply. If this is the case, we would charge for 1 hour labor ($120.00) and for the capacitor ($3-4.00)unless the manufacturer recommends replacement of the power supply. Hope this helps you. Don't replace anything, Vizio has issued a lifetime warranty for this set because of this problem. No joke, call the customer service line and tell them you got the pop of death. They'll send someone out to 'repair' the set free of charge. If they can't fix it they'll give you a new one. Even if your mfg purchase warranty has expired. Call them and post the results. I've been fixing TV's longer than I care to admit and this is the first time I've actually seen a company stand behind their products like this. I bought a broken tv with the intent of fixing it and after replacing almost every board I could only manage to get the vertical racing stripe line, except mine was purple. I put it all back together and called to find out if there was a recall on this set and within 5 minutes the (Actual English speaking) gentleman told me to sit tight and he'd have a repairman come and do his thing. He did, and long story short, he couldn't fix it. Last week they delivered a new TV to replace this one. I was shocked. I think Vizio will have all my future business.
Good luck.
