How can I open my glass cooktop (thermador GGNCV30W)

None of my burners are sparking at all. I have a new ignition control unit that I want to put inside my cooktop. I've removed the burners and have unscrewed the brass rings that feed the gas to the burner. There is still a metal piece on the cooktop which is on top of the round white base that exists for each burner. I can figure out how to get the rest of this stuff off the cooktop - no visible screws or threaded parts (unless one needs a special tool for that). Appreciate any advice!

Sound like you are on the right track if you have found the screws under the burner caps. some of those types has a big brass nut. some of them you have to remove the unit and access from underneath. send picture of what you are looking at if you like. good luck

SOURCE: Electric coils for old Thermador cooktop Model #TMH45

i just checked repairclinic.com and they seem to have a lot of parts for Thermador. you just need your model number. if the burners look anything like this, then you might be able to buy aftermarket burners a lot cheaper at lowes or home depot. thermadore parts are very expensive.38e8186.jpg

do not drill out the jets they will not work properly.
I would check all your documentation you may have the convention kit with your owners manual or it may be attached to the oven.

SOURCE: Cleaning Thermador Cooktop?

To clean the stainless around the star burners try applying Easy-Off oven cleaner around the stars with a Q-tip (spray the cleaner onto the stainless surface first because it's very hard to control the spray output). The cleaner will make your stainless sparkle and the Q-tips allow you to get close enough while controlling the application. Scrub gently with the Q-tip and the stains will disappear within minutes. Wash thoroughly with a wet cloth. I've used this on my older model Thermador stainless cooktop for 5 years.

Have a thermador psc364gdzs the spark does not work for the gridle

The spark module is in the ignition circuit for the gas burners. When a burner control knob is turned to the Lite position, it provides voltage to the spark electrodes on the gas burners. If the spark module fails to provide the electrodes with voltage, then it should be replaced.

Thermador Gas Range - Griddle ignition will not spark

I have a Thermador Gas Range PG364GDBS - Oven, 4 burners, and center griddle. All are gas. The four burners and gas oven work fine. The griddle just stopped working, no spark. Turning on the griddle control, the gas valve opens(hear it), gas flows (smell it), but the ignitor will not spark (no loud or faint spark that I can hear). I got a replacement ignition device (mount at the burner) thinking it might be the problem, but still no spark. I checked the AC voltage at the terminal and measured 39 VAC between the terminal and ground. Not sure if that is the correct voltage. Any insights or advice would be great.

Thermador SGS304 Ignitor does not spark

Hey Frust1
check that the particular burner is properly "grounded" see that no "dirt" is between burner and frame. Also ensure that the insulation on the wire from the igniter unit to the probe at the burner is not damaged.

Clogged burner on gas cooktop

lowly is it the left burners that won't lite? I only ask as depending on the model some of the Thermador cook tops had simmer control burners. This is a 3 part system on the burners. 1 a simmer control, 2 electric solenoid, 3 potentiors. When you turn on the burner the potentior tells the simmer control to send power to the gas solenoid. At the same time the unit will spark. If your unit has extra low on the left 2 burners then you have this system. The usual problem in the potentior. Hope this helps.
