The contactor is stuck closed, the trigger wiring in the cabinet is shorted together or trigger switch stuck closed.

SOURCE: Wire feed not working Miller 250 mig welder

Hi there,
If the knob spins all the way around (and especially of it didn't always do that), it's broken. This could mean that the nut that holds the rheostat in place has come loose, or it could be that the wiper inside the rheostat has broken off the shaft. To find the voltage measurements, correct schematics, etc, I'd need to know the serial number of your welder.

Regards,
Carl

SOURCE: northern tool mig welder,120 volt with gas.The

This welder is made in China. I have one and it works fine. Parts and service are available from northern tool. 1-800 # is on the book. FYI this 135 gas no gas looks exactly like the Lincoln SP135 and Lincoln workmate 135. GOTO the lincoln site and bring up the manual. It is a free download and is a much better manual than the one it came with. I agree with the previous post. Put a continuity test on the 2 wires that come from the trigger. there is a wire diagram in the book that came with it. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: The wire feed on my welder will not work.

Dale,
Probably the trigger/ open the lead and try to short the connections for the trigger by bypassing the trigger acuator. This is the mechanism that activates the wire feed motor and applies the welding voltage to the wire. If this works, get a new torch handle.

My trigger to my millermatic 250 won't stop feeding the wire even when switch is not pressed

Does it feed with the trigger plug removed from the machine? If so, then it is a circuit board. If no, then wires shorted somewhere in the gun.

Hi:

If everything works but there is no arc; you should check your ground clamp, make sure it is not loose or dirty including terminals and replace your gun's contact tip.
Believe it or not this is a simple one.

How do you hook a miller s-22p8 wire feeder to a lincoln ranger 10,000 plus engine driven welder?

you can't, the S-22P8 it's not a volt sensing wire feeder, it requires 24V or 115 with an adapter. FOr CV machines only.

I HAVE A MILLER CRICKET THAT SOMETIMES WHEN TACKING FEEDS WIRE AND WON'T STOP UNLESS YOU UNPLUG THE WELDER.AND WHEN WELDING ON A HOTTER HEAR RANGE IT STICKS AND WON'T FEED WIRE FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS.I TOOK...

Good eye. Yes that relay is CR1. It controls power to the main transformer, power to the feed motor, as well as providing a brake for the motor when the trigger is released. CR1 is controlled by the gun trigger. The contacts in CR1 will burn (the arcing you seen in the relay) and cause the problem you mentioned. The part number for the relay is #120706. All this is for the 70 amp model. The 90 amp model has a second relay with a small PC Board. It is a little bit more complicated and more could be the problem. I am enclosing the manual for the Cricket. It includes both the 70 amp and the 90 amp models. If you have the 90 amp model, the repair will be different and will require more advanced troubleshooting. Also. there are two other models for the cricket, the 200 and the XL, both having different parts. Now having said all, if you feel confident , the actual repair is not complicated but you have to understand there is a potential for shocking due to high voltage.. If you are going to do the repair yourself, make sure the welder is unplugged and that no one will be able to plug it in while you are working on it. You will have to check with a Miller distributor for pricing and availability. https://www.millerwelds.com/files/owners-manuals/O1307_MIL.pdf

Im tryint to conect my wire feeder

ask weld tech at a welding supply store and ask if your components are compatible (since most wire feeders are 24 volts).

I have a miller 180 autoset that does not feed the wire

If your welder is less than 3 years old your local Miller authorized service center will repair it for FREE. They can also check the serial number of your welder over the phone to see if it is still in warranty. For goodness sake DON'T tell them you've been mucking around inside the welder or they won't be able to help you.
That said, if the welder spins the feed wheels without any wire between them it probably isn't the board. There is the switch in the gun, the board, and the motor and brake assembly all needed to feed the wire.
