Go to driver downloads at riso.com and download the riso admin tool. much easier than the web interface. test mode/print 95 if you need a config sheet with ip, for example if your subnet mask still isnt letting you see it.

Printer IP Address Lookup

Need assistance in looking up for your printer's IP Address?

Often times we see a networked printer suddenly stop working and you need to find a static (private) ip address of the printer to diagnose further. How do we find IP address of a networked printer? There are a few different ways to go about finding it.

1. A network printer with built-in ethernet port usually provides a menu button that will allow you to display IP address assigned to it. You may also try printing self test or configuration page from your printer.

2. If you can't find an IP address of a network printer from the menu display or your printer is connected to a printer server with no display, you may find its address from any networked computer configured to use the printer. To find the printer IP address from a Windows machine, perform the following.

Start -> Printers and Faxes, or Start -> Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes
Right-click the printer name, and left-click Properties
Click the Ports tab, and widen the first column which displays IP address of the printers

3. If your networked printer uses DHCP, you may connect to your router and find the IP address of the printer from DHCP status page. The router displays all host machines that are assigned dynamic IP addresses.

4. You may also try pinging your network from a computer connected to the network, and lookup an arp table. On your computer, click [Start] -> [Run...] and type "cmd" and [Enter]. Type "ipconfig" to find your network address. The network address is found by performing a logical AND operation on your IP address and the subnet mask. For example, if you IP is 192.168.1.101 and subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, then the network address is 192.168.1.0. Ping your network using a broadcast address, i.e. "ping 192.168.1.255". After that, perform "arp -a" to determine all the computing devices connected to the network. One of the IP found is your networked printer.

5. You may also use "netstat -r" command to find an IP address of all network routes. However, if your printer has problem communicating with other network devices, you may not be able to find IP address of the printer using "netstat" command.

Windows XP: How to release and renew IP addresses

IP addresses can either be assigned manually or automatically. When they are assigned automatically, a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server hands them out and determines which computer or other device gets which address. This process usually flows smoothly, but there are times when you may need to release or renew an IP address even when using DHCP.

There are several ways to release and renew IP addresses in Windows XP. Each procedure is described below.

From the system notification tray:

1. Right click on the network connection icon in the system notification tray.
2. Select Repair. Windows will automatically release the current IP address, reset the network connection, and request an IP address from the DHCP server. (The new IP address that gets assigned may be a different one from before, or it may be the same one.)

From the Start menu:

1. Click the Start button.
2. Right click on My Network Places.
3. Select Properties.
4. Right click on the network connection that is currently in use.
5. Select Repair. (If you choose a network connection that is not in use, Repair will be grayed out.)

For either of the above methods, you can release and renew your IP address manually by clicking Disable instead of Repair, and then right-clicking and choosing Enable.

From the command prompt:

1. Click the Start button.
2. Click Run.
3. Type "cmd" and press [Enter].
4. At the command line, type "ipconfig /release" and press [Enter].
5. Type "ipconfig /renew" and press [Enter].
6. Type "exit" and press [Enter].

Need ip address for DI3010f

Your network determines that! To load your IP address once you have it go 1. Admin Management 2.Admin Settings #2 3. Network Settings, 3. Network Settings #1 Basic Setting and then place IP address Gateway and Mask. RECOMMEND YOU USE static IP not DHCP which then the sever determines your copier IP Not good

How do I determine actual threats to my network while reviewing my wireless/network Router's Event Log?

Logs are meant to see the activities handled by your router. However, to determine any threat you can check for the IP address of the devices you have connected to your router. You can determine if any one else is trying to access your router by their ip address only.
Note down the IP address for all the devices that you have connected to your router. Than match the your devices IP addresses with IP addresses you found in the logs.
Matching IP address: Means your devices accessing the router. Unmatched IP Address: Someone else's devices trying to access your router.
You can always add security by using WEP/WPA2 key security. For further security you can encrypt the keys.

Difference between DNS and WINS

WINS is Windows Internet Naming Service, a system that determines the IP address associated with a particular network computer. This is called name resolution. WINS supports network client and server computers running Windowsand can provide name resolution for other computers with specialarrangements. Determining the IP address for a computer is a complexprocess when DHCPservers assign IP addresses dynamically. For example, it is possiblefor DHCP to assign a different IP address to a client each time themachine logs on to the network.

DNS, a.k.a Domain Name System is a database system thattranslates a computer's fully qualified domain name into anIP address.Networked computers use IP addresses to locate and connect to eachother, but IP addresses can be difficult for people to remember. Forexample, on the web, it's much easier to remember the domain namewww.amazon.com than it is to remember its correspondingIP address (207.171.166.48). DNS allows you to connect to anothernetworked computer or remote service by using its user-friendly domainname rather than its numerical IP address. Conversely, Reverse DNS(rDNS) translates an IP address into a domain name.
