did you replace the valve with the solenoid
That sounds like the water valve that receives water from your house plumbing and sends it to your icemaker and to the water dispenser. In addition to the hose connections, there are likely some electrical connections on it.
The valve should be readily available at any of the appliance parts places that sell on the internet. It should be fairly easy to replace. Most of those are pretty accessible.
Check the inlet valve hoses, even if inlet is at the back, the water may drip down and flow on the front part on the machine.
There you also have the PUMP, a faulty pump may leak intermittently.
Here you get all diagrams and parts for your appliance.
If it fills with water and starts the cycle and
the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the
water supply comes in is sticking. It needs replacing.
There is no connector . The plastic line pushes into the valve . If enough line is there , remove the short piece from the valve by pushing in on the white ring while pulling out on the broken line , and insert the main line into the valve with a little force . Check for leak by using water dispensor.
Two things might be happening. One is the line to the fridge is leaking, this line come thru the floor or wall to the bottom and hooks up to a water valve, it may just need tightening. The other problem is you will have a hose that runs from the filter down in behind the crisper drawers to the bottom and coils up here to hold water for cold use. it then runs thru the bottom pan out to the front, to the bottom door hinge on the freezer side up the door to the dispencer. Check along the hose for a pin hole look at the bottom hinge area first, things bump into it here and can damage the plastic cover.
The part number for the valve for a pss26msrss is:
WR57X10032 it is around $45.00-$50.00. There are several look ups available but you need a complete model number that you will find on the refrigerator usually inside upper fresh food section. you can order at repairclinic.com, sears .com ... or you can google appliance parts and see what you come up with. You might also try a local appliance store. Good Luck.
The water line is broken somewhere from the water dispencer all the way down to the water valve. I usually find that it is broken next to the water valve. Hint: Water valve is blue and located behind the fridge in the compressor department. Water line is 1/4inch clear tube that is probaly now a "yellowish" color. Easy to spot, easy to fix, especially if located next to water valve...
