Fridge doesnt work both freezer and refrigerator part not making ice

freezer feeds cool air to fridge via a fan --possible causes ---circuit board failure--evap frozen over--evap fan failure --no power--condenser dirty --condenser fan fail--compressor failure --damage with freon leak---thermostat--

IS THERE A CONTAINER FOR THE ICE TO COLLECT IN UNDER THE ICEMAKER??? IF NOT YOU WILL NEED TO GET OR ORDER ONE..
NEXT THERE IS A WIRE LEVER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ICE MAKER. WHEN THE ICE PUSHED THAT LEVER UP IT WILL QUIT MAKING ICE. WITH YOUR HAND GENTLY LIFT THE LEVER UP UNTIL IT STAYS LOCKED IN THE UP POSITION... ONCE IT IS IN THE UP POSITION ... IT WILL NOT PRODUCE ANY ICE.

Since the freezer is icing up there could be many different problems a blockage or a problem with the defrost or timer of the unit if u greeting unit number is should be on inside of the door or back by the condenser best bet from what I see is get a tech to fix it they will find all those numbers that u need

i think you have to check to make sure that
the fan inside the freezer is cycling on.
it will be concealed of course but you should
be able to hear it. i replaced one once with
the same symptoms and that fixed fridge
portion of a 2002 or 3 whirlpool. make sure
to listen closely and not mistake it for the
stronger fan motor which operates in
conjunction with and nearby the compressor.

OK, remove the cover on the face of the ice maker and let me know if the model look like this picture:
If it looks like this model, I have the service manual for it with all the testing procedures.If it doesn't, see if you can get a model number off the unit. They make about 4 different model for this unit.

you will need to defrost it. the freezer is what keeps your fridge cool. the vent where the cool air goes up to your fridge is sealed or frozen.
unplug the fridge and open the doors and let it defrost.
plug it back in after a few hours and it should be working again.

There is a drain line that discharges water from the freezer when the defrost cycle kicks in. It will be a plastic tube that runs from the bottom of the freezer to a tray under the fridge. It has come loose or become plugged I always blow air thru the line and make sure it is not loose. You can also get leakage from an ice maker but this problem will usually show up as ice formingin the freezer first. good luck

check for your freezer fan running properly
then check to make sure you have air flow into the freezer this model has a habit of freezing ice in the air channels

how long did you leave it unplugged? it's possible all the frost didn't defrost .you need to leave it unplugged and the doors open for at least 12 hrs.

Do you have any frost buld up in freezer compartment?if so sounds like a freezing issue.If no frost build up is your fan running in freezer part if not you may need evap fan or a manual defrost.Your fan may have ice stoping it from turning.If your fan is running you may need to pull off your start switch located on your compressor.Shake it around if you here noise like burnt parts in it you will need a start switch.And remmember never turn your fridge up full blast normal is good or you will freeze it up.
