Whirlpool wed5840sw0 dryer NOT STARTING

When I press the start nothing happens. I was drying a large blanket earlier and it was not drying very well. I had to rotate the blanket and restart sevveral times. When I removed the blanket and put something new in the start would not work for either the timed or auto function. I unplugged and replugged it and still nothing

SOURCE: Dryer won't start.

Would first check the Breaker panel Breaker and see if it is tripped. Try resetting, if it trips out immediately would call an electrician.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gas Dryer keeps running on auto dry setting

When you moved the sensor wire on the moisture sensor may have fallen off.
Remove the front panel and locate the wire and the connection. It will be on the right side near the lint filter vent. If it is still connected your timer has gone bad.

What is the problem with my dryer?

The motor starting circuit is failing. Confirm this by giving the drum a push start when it hums. Most likely, the centrifugal switch on the motor is sticking (due to lint buildup) or broken. It has a mechanical component that operates an electrical switch. Check the mechanical operation, then check the switch. Also, check that the motor electrical connector is seated completely.

Clothes roll into a ball on matag dryer

As you insert the clothing into the dryer make sure you open up the larger pieces fully so they do not ball up. Frequently people put large bed sheets in before opening them up and everything gets rolled inside them. If your load is too small, that might happen, also!

When I try to start a drying cycle with the dryer plugged in, I push the start button and nothing happens. Can you tell me what the problem is?

The problem is usually caused by a blown thermal fuse located on the blower housing. This thermal fuse is wire in series with the motor and when it blows open, power to the motor is cut and consequently the dryer will not start. No dryer function works when the motor cannot run. Model MDE9700AYW: I set the timer for a certain amount of time (say 30 minutes). I come back 45 minutes later and the dryer is still running. There is also a "racetrack" in the display. No error...

Instructions

1. Break your load down into smaller groups. Large, saturated blankets, duvets, blankets and other upholstery can be too heavy for the MDE9700AYW to safely dry. Dry large large items one at a time with some smaller items such socks and underwear to better balance the load. One washer load should equal one dryer load.
2. Confirm that the cycle selector has been pushed down and the dryer door is latched shut. When the dryer door is opened, the cycle is temporarily paused to protect you from injury. Press the cycle selector down to resume the drying cycle once the door has clicked closed.
3. Examine the circuit breakers or fuses in the dryer's electrical circuit. The Maytag MDE9700AYW needs two active fuses or breakers, depending on your home, to operate its electronics and spin the drum. The dryer may not spin if either one of the fuses or breakers is inactive.

Whirlpool model KUDSO1FL not starting cleaning

I fixed the problem by hitting Hi-Scrub then Economy Dry in sequence four times in a row. All of the lights came on, I am assuming to reset it the program, then went off and the start button was highlighted. I then pressed cancel and then selected the program that I wanted to wash with and pressed start. It worked like a charm.

Wet towels & blankets stacked on working dryer

This won't affect drying time unless the load is so heavy it causes the cabinet to warp and disturb the door seal. If you haven't had any problem with this so far you can probably keep doing it. (The machine is designed to support the weight of a wet load in the drum, and should have some safety margin. But why not invest in a roll-around laundry cart like you find at laundromats and keep the wet load there until the dryer is clear?) You might need to be more concerned about rust starting on the top of the cabinet if the enamel is scratched, since it's not usually subjected to wet loads being piled there. You should also check your vent pipe frequently to make sure it stays clear with all the drying you do. Clogged lint screens and vent pipes will definitely lengthen drying time.

Whirlpool dryer not starting

ok if you don't hear a load sound like the motor trying to start it's not the start switch or motor, more then likely it's the door switch or the main blower box fuse, let me know if you want to try to tackle this let me know-mike
