There should be a thumbscrew or set screw in the portion of the wire feed assembly where it goes through inside of the cabinet that snugs up to the straight portion of the cable assembly.

You do need to make sure the shank portion of the assembly goes through and almost touches the feed wheel. Then snug the set screw or thumbscrew down until it locks that shank into place.

I will see if I can upload a picture of how my Century is held in place. Yours will differ a bit, but will be largely similar in concept although the clamping method will differ.

If your entire drive assembly is loose, that needs to be secured to the inner bulkhead.

I am not finding a window to upload image, but it dawned on me- if you have a groove on the end of the welding cable shank that is visible when installeld, it would be retained by a clip. My Century uses 2 bolts to press a block against that shank to lock it in place for example. It is also possible your set screw fell out, or if new- was not drilled at the factory. If it needs to be drilled, a 10-32 or 1/4-20 set screw should be perfectly adequate.

If the cooling fan motor comes on and the the machine “clicks” when you close the trigger, use your index finger and push in on the on/off switch, if the feed motor turns replace the on/off switch

There is a reset button located in the wire feed spool compartment,
check to see it stays in when pushed. It is a safety when the machine

I have a lincoln weld pack 100 hd, and i want to weld aluminum but i dont know how to start. i buy a 4043 fil d aluminium mig and i dont know if my welder it ill be fine to weld,

you can weld aluminum with the lincoln but you will need to change the liner in the wand to a nylon one and swich the gas to 100% argon and of course change the wire to an aluminum roll. and practice-practice-practice it is much more difficult to weld aluminum then steel and requires much more control.

Your drive tension is too light. There are rollers that the wire feeds through and they need to be tightened. They should push the wire through the gun but slip if you put the tip against a solid object and pull the trigger. If they do not slip, they will jam your gun. Give the tensioner another turn.

Check the voltage at the wire feed motor when the trigger is pulled.

I had a Weld Pak 100 that with 0 volts at the wire feed motor, and the problem wound up being that 2 of the big power (stud) diodes were shorted.

the stud is held in place by the cable jack. unscrew the jack from the back of the assy inside the pack under the liner. The stud should just slip out. You do not have to remove the entire light assy to do this. Just the part the cable screws onto.
