The chain on this Poulan tightens to the point that the chain will no longer spin on the bar after chain adjustments
Make sure the chain is not over tightened. When adjusting the tightness, ensure there is at least 1/8" of looseness by pulling up on the chain in the middle of the bar and releasing it. If a chain becomes overheated because of leaning on the saw when the chain is dull, or lack of oil on the chain, it may expand in the track and not turn freely.

I have run a chainsaw professionaly for many years and this is the first time I have had this problem. I know that the chain on a chainsaw will loosen up when it gets warm but the one on my saw gets tighter and tighter untill the engine will not spin the chain. I start by adjusting the chain properly before running the saw. after using the saw for about five minutes it acts like it is loosing power. I shut it off and check chain tension and it is too tight. I loosen it back to the correct tension and run it about another five minutes and then same thing. I am stumped. Good chain, Good tensioner, Good bar, Chainsaw is not equipped with a chain brake. some one please help me figure this out.
