To reset the Belkin back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and then power for at least 15 secs. Then release the RESET button. Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1 The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password. You can now configure the wireless settings to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. Your iPAd should see your wireless network like other devices do. Does your iPad not prompt you to connect to your home network? If it does you should enter your wireless pass key manually on your iPad.
Before you start : Make Sure the Wireless Switch on your Computer is turned Off (If you are using a laptop to connect to the router ) Make sure that the Light on the Router is Solid Green
Step 1 : connect a computer to the router (Wired)
Step 2 : Open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar of Internet Explorer
Step 3 : Once you are at the router setup .. on the left side underneath Wireless you can find Wi-Fi Protected Setup
Click it
Step 4 : If it is asking for a password .. leave the password field blank and click submit
Step 5 : Disable Wi Fi Protected Setup and click apply changes
Step 6 : Now on the left under wireless click Security
Step 7 : If it is asking for a password .. leave the password field blank and click submit
Step 8 : Change the Security mode to WPA-PSK (you can also choose WPA-2 but sometimes it doesnt work )
Step 9 : Type a password (8 Characters , It is Case Sensitive)
Step 10: Click apply Changes
Step 11: On the left , Under Wireless Click Channel and SSiD
Step 12: Change the SSiD to a Different name , Change the Wireless Channel to 11
Step 13:Click Apply Changes
Turn On the Wireless Switch on the Computer (If you are using a Laptop to Connect between router)
Now try to Connect to this new network on both your wireless Computers and Ipad
which belkin device have you connected to your desktop? The ipad will be looking for a wireless network to connect to. So you will need a wireless router to allow it to connect, also the modems ethernet cable needs to plugged into the wireless router and IF you have the modem connected directly to the pc to allow it to connect to the internet , then you need to connect a lead FROM the router to the PC
Make sure you are entering the letters in upper-case when entering the password to connect to this router. The iPad always shows letters on the keyboard in upper-case, but they may be entered in lower-case and it will not connect.
