Toshiba SD2010 DVD player

I have movies in Divx and AVI format on a USB stick that I want to play via the USB port on the Toshiba SD2010 dvd player. I registered the device on Divx and was given a Divx registration video which I want to play via the USB but all it does when I click on the movie is a blue screen and on top it says loading. After a long while it goes back to the movie list without playing the selected movie. What I am doing wrong?

You need to convert avi and burn DivX videos to DVD. There are many DVD burning programs that you can choose from to burn avi or DivX to DVD. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Creator. It can easily burn all kinds of videos to a DVD or Blu-ray disc.

SOURCE: Play divx movies

Usually, DVD players that play DIVX are very specific on which version it will play; you might want to check this link out: https://vod.divx.com/how/
Oddly enough the P350H manual says nothing about DIVX playback.

SOURCE: LG HT762 DVD Player won't play divx anymore?

Try to unplug the player for a few seconds and then plug it back. It should work again with the DivX files. I had an identical problem and since then, it works just fine.

SOURCE: samsung wont play entire divx movie

If you are talking about the fact that this player zooms picture when playing divx and does not allow manual correction, my solution was to go out and buy a pioneer player today (DV-220VK). It's strange as the samsung plays normal dvd format fine but they have obviously got the divx playback wrong. So far the pioneer has been great!

Panasonic DVD S48 - DVD player how to play movies over usb

Yes, I know Panasonic DVD S48, if your movie file is right divx avi movie file, you can directly transfer the divx avi movie file to your usb disk and play on your Panasonic DVD S48, but if your movie files isn\'t divx avi movie file, you have to use a right software to convert your movies to right divx avi movies, then transfer to your usb disk, convert any movies to divx avi movies.

Tevion Dvd player won't read burned cd's or dvd's.

Transfer your .avi movie files onto a USB stick & simply plug them into the Tevion DVD player.
Select the usb button on the remote to activate & choose which film to play from the menu that pops up.
Good luck!

My Samsung DVD-P390 player doesn't see downloaded avi files on my USB memory stick. Any thoughts?

I have the same player and also had teh same problem hooking up an external drive to it (Iomega 320 prestige) This player will only recognize the FAT32 file system.Have your USB formatted for Fat32.I know, I worked for hours with my buddy trying to get his external drive working with his ps3..same thing.

I download free movies to hard drive, than I burn them, and my dvd player says no playback available or a big red x shows on tv screen, what am I doing wrong/

You probably have burnt the dvd disc using a video format that is not compatible with your player.
A lot of DVD players will not play .AVI or DIVx files that are commonly downloaded.
Your DVD player manual should list the formats it will play.
Convert downloaded movies to a compatible format before burning to disc.
There are several conversion programmes available via the web - at a cost of approx $50.00.
AVS4U works ok.

Can't play divx or avi

Thats because Divx or AVI is not a recognized format for a DVD Player. If you are burning a disc you need a software that can create a DVD Format Disc from an AVI as all DivX are AVIs. I reccomend Ulead DVD Workshop 2:

Downloading

The following formats can be played on Windows media player:

avi
mov
mp4
mpg
mpeg

Normally DVD players cannot read compressed formats, if you have a regular DVD/MP3 player, that wont read any of the formats above, or with some luck will read only uncoded Avi, mov or mpeg.

The formats above are all compressed formats, and often they need additional software call codecs, they can be read on computers, but they generally are not working on dvd players.

To be sure that a DVD will read compressed computer movies, you need a special DVD player with Divx , like the one below:
