NordicTrack Treadmill ViewPoint NTL11806.0 Treadmill buttons don't work right. TV won't turn off(the power button is stuck in), the console cycles on it's own, from a blue screen with the word "console", the "speed" screen, and the TV screen. Also will cycle between those screens every time you push any button on the panel. Treadmill belt won't run because of this. The last time the treadmill worked, there was an odd odor coming from it. Smelled kind of like a mix of rubber and warm Frito's. Just bought new key for the treadmill, so it's not that.
1) Try to reconnect the plug between console and pcboard very well.
2)Clean the contacts with special contact cleanear( radio schack or computer store) with carefully only the buttons, if you can open the cover better.
3) adjust the Sensor SWITHC.
4) Look for any wire loose, or making bad contact, or break wiring( continuity) test the fuse and breaker.
If after you did those steps, and the problem persist, the console board is faulty.but first change the sensor switch, you must be shure after adjustment.
Thank you Mr. Cuadra for answering me. My problem with the console buttons (which happened only yesterday) has somehow cleared up on it's own. Yesterday when the trouble happened, I unplugged the treadmill and let it sit unused over night. Then today, I plugged it in and tried it, and happily the console works, and the TV has turned off. I won't be turning the TV on anymore. But, I wonder what caused it to act like that yesterday? And, do you think it will happen again?
However, there is still the matter of the tread-belt not working yet. When I turn on the treadmill and punch in a speed and start, there is no motor noise that I can hear and the tread-belt will not engage and move at all. Remember, yesterday the tread-belt was working but I smelled an odd odor kind of like a mix of rubber and warmed Frito's chips. It did not smell like an electrical smell. Do you think there is a problem with the Electrical Controller? Or, is it something else? I appreciate any help you may offer on this problem. Thank you and I hope you have a Great Day!
I am happy that some problem was fix. However You did not any adjustment, that phenomenon is calle transistory effect( concept of electrical engineering). Please adjust the sensor reed switch+. And you will see if the console is working o.k or not. After that you will thinking is console is o.k or bad. If the console working good after you did the adjustment sensor or replace the sensor. You must check the following:
