Is it possible you're using a later foot with the sensor lenses on it ... your machine has the optical sensor for the automatic buttonhole foot and I'm wondering if you're getting it confused by using a foot that is not designed to go with that machine ?

Cannot keep the needle from zig aging when using zip foot this is bernina 1630. It was working five one day and the next it went to zig zag.

Does it straight stitch with a zig zag foot? Go back into the menu and clear everything then go to straight stitch, then press the little buttons beside the Zig Zag dial to position the needle left or right

Bernina 930 change needle position

Look at the knob which creates the zig-zag stitch (1-4) at the top right of your 930. In the center of that is a silver knob that rotates right and left. That silver switch moves the needle position right and left.

Bernina 1630

I have a Bernina Virtuosa so not the same machine - but this may help. There is an icon on the front of the machine - it is a needlepoint pointing at a dot in an oval - there are arrow buttons on either side. These move the needle left or right of center and it shows on LED screen. I checked mine just now and if you turn machine off and on it resets to center automatically. Hope this helps - Happy Sewing!!
