  • This radio is a standard FRS handheld. Unfortunately these antennas are not replaceable nor do they make them in an aftermarket aspect. If the antenna is no longer working or broke then the radio[s] need to be replaced. No way around it, sorry,.

  • Hope this helps.

Where the antenna of Magnavox Solid State Radio is located? I would like to install one on my radio that I just got.

I don't know but will take a guess - I expect the radio is a vintage am/fm transistor radio. The am antenna is likely to be a ferrite rod tuned directional type that will be inside the cabinet.

The fm antenna might be a single core wire that dangles from the set in the way commonly used by many fm radio-alarm clock-radios. This performs the same function as the single telescopic antenna of portable radios without the cost and similarly is connected internally to the first rf stage. Sometimes due to age, mishandling or ignorance the dangling wire is lost or cut off.

A higher quality table radio (not designed to be portable) is equipped with a facility to connect a 300 ohm balanced antenna, a 75 ohm fm antenna or both.

The 300 ohm type connects to a pair of screws accessible at the rear without removing any covers and is usually an indoor type. The 75 ohm type plugs in with a standard coax plug and could be either an indoor type or an outdoor type.

A matching transformer is available to use a 75 ohm antenna with a 300 ohm input. The 300 ohm type is highly directional in horizontally polarised signal areas and is not always convenient to use.

CP125 Uhf. What is the specific adapter to use on a CP125 as antenna substitute for RF testing with a service monitor? Do you have a part number?

It requires two pieces, unique to this model and the AX series:
BNC Adapter HLN8262
Antenna Ground Plate DSK001C719

Best regards.

The AM radio signals can no longer be received

The AM Antenna is separate from the FM antenna please verify that the AM antenna is present. It is usually a 2 pronged plug attached to twisted pair wires and a plastic oval or rectangle shaped insulator. Kinda like this: http://www.soundline.co.nz/store/product_info.php?cPath=21_31&products_id=75

If it is there, unplug it and plug it back in again, sometimes the plug contacts get tarnished.

My radio antenna broke off in a car wash. I have purchased the new antenna, but can't figure out how to get the old one out!

The antenna should screw into the base. You probably need a small pair of pliers or an adjustable wrench to take the old one out. Just unscrew as you would any screw (counter clockwise) to loosen.

How do you install a jvc cd player in a 95 carolla is the colors the same

Most new radios have a diagram or wiring scheme that tells you which wire goes where. Usually there are 2 power wires(one goes to ignition wire and the other to the battery B+ wire). Then there are the Power antenna and Ground wires. Once you have these in place you can figure out the speaker wires. #1 You need a DMM (Digital Multimeter), wirecutters, wirenuts, lineman pliers and electric tape. #2 There are only 2 wires that should put out a voltage. So set your DMM to DC voltage at 20 voltage range. (If your battery is 24V set your DMM to next highest range.) Connect the black test lead of your DMM to ground(usually a black wire). Connect your red test lead of your DMM to all of the dash wires ONE AT A TIME until you find ONE that puts out a voltage of approx. 12 V. That is your Battery B+ wire. Mark it and set it aside. Now to find the ignition wire. Note that your ignition wire will not put out a voltage until you turn the ignition ON. So turn ignition ON and find it by connecting blacl test lead of DMM to ground wire and the red test lead of DMM to each of the remaining wires until you read 12 V. Be sure to double check by reading both wires while ignition ON and OFF. Mark the Ignition wire and set aside. #3 Now that the wires that put out a voltage are out of the way, set your DMM to Continuity Tester. This test is done with power off(no more power emitting wires anymore remember). This test checks for continuity or a path which current can flow through. It does so by 'BEEPING' when the leads are connected to both ends of a connecting wire. So start checking the wires by connecting black lead to one wire and red to another wire. Mismatch until you find two that will make a beep. That pair of wires connect to a speaker. Band the pair together and find 3 more pairs. Those four pairs are the wires to the four speakers in your car. #4 You can now make the proper connections using the wiring scheme on the radio. So far you can connect the ignition wire and the battery wire. Theoretically if you were to turn on the ignition power is going into the radio but the negative/ground needs to be connected for the power to flow. Other than the other 8 speakers wires there should only be 2 wires remaining coming out of the dash. One would be the ground and the other the power antenna. With the ignition on and the radio turned on tap the power antenna wire from the radio to one of the 2 remaining wires. Taping the ground would not power the antenna but taping the power antenna wire will. So find out which is the power antenna by quickly tapping it. Most ppl would not recommend this type of testing. Make proper connections once finding which is which. #5 At this point the wiring scheme on the radio tells which pair of speaker wires is for which of the four speakers in the car. 1) rear right; 2) rear left; 3) front right; and 4) front left. With the ignition on and the car radio on take any pair from the radio and soft connect to a pair on the car. One of the speakers will play. Note which one and find its coresponding connection on the wiring scheme. Do two more in the same manner which would only left one on the car and one pair on the radio. #6 Remember to make good connections using the linemans pliers to twist the wires tightly together. Plus secure all connections with wire nuts and to be safe also secure with the electric tape. Try to keep wires neat and secure. I hope this helps. =)
