I have a four yr old Husqvarna 125B. it has been very dependable but is becoming finicky. I adjusted carb screw and that helped, but it shuts off after ten mins of running great. Fuel mix is correct and I clean the air filter. time ofr a fuel filter?
One thing to remember NEVER BLOW OUT YOUR FUEL LINE WITH COMPRESSED AIR !! this will damage the carb diaphram. remove carb then pull fuel filter then if needed apply air to fuel line with nothing hoocked on either end. Next I would inspect fuel filter and replace if 4 yrs old, then remove carb and dissasemble and clean it and don't forget to clean the screen in there also and pull your needle valve out and wipe off (don't use carb cleaner on needle valve cause it will cause it to sweel up and not work properly. you may find that you will have to get repair kit for carb, then after that is all together, make sure your jet are preset at 1/12 turns out from closed. Pull off your muffler and check screen and exhaust port for carbon, you can leave the screen out if plugged where you can't see through it. also check exhaust port and clean it out...make sur piston is up sp carbon deposits don't fall in cylinder when being scraped off then carefully blow them out w/air. Put all back together and start up and adjust high speed (closest to air filter to where motor just starts to drop off from top rpm..open it not close it. If this takes care of it then your good to go, if not I would Check for spark when it gets hot and quits..could be coil, also I forgot to tell you check your compression and spark plug first before getting into carb. Make sure your Mix is FRESH....any more than 6 wks old dump in your vehile and mix up fresh for 2cycle equipment. this gas now a days loses its octane fast and is terrible for equipment, the ethanol eats fuel lines and gums up carbs, but doesen't effect cars ! think I got ya covered so have a great day!
The carburetor or fuel line are the usual culprits. This can be fixed by pouring the fuel into a container to inspect for debris. The fuel line should be drained and blown to cleared completely. Fuel left in an engine can sour and gunk up the inner working. Make sure your using a stabilizer in the mix before storing during winter. Happy Gardening,Coach Dave
