Canon powershot a75 model pc1202 - when trying to take pic, blurred and dark vertical lines. can this be repaired?

you say previous pics are ok Just the newer ones. Only a guess but it happens regularly... Makes sure you have not set the camera to MACRO mode as if its not aq close up then a;ll pics will be fuzzy and blurred.

the problem with your camera is the ccd this is a know issue with alot of digital cameras and most of the time the manufacture will repair it for free if you have a receipt. if not then repairs can run 65.00 and up on this camera. for more info goto digitalcamrepair.com.

i also have the same problem blurred and has vertical lines.

Sony has a known issue with some of these cameras.

It sounds like the focus element in your lens is not functioning properly. Does the lens retract completely when you turn off the camera? When you push the button does the camera attempt to focus the image? If you do not see any change in the image when you push the button, and do not hear any sound - then your focus motor is either jammed or malfunctioning. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
