My husband removed the ice tray to look at the arm. The arm had slipped and was not in the proper position. Now it works!!!!!!! Glad it was so simple.

Should be a wire feeler arm that runs front to back on that icemaker. If it is stuck in the up position---the icemaker is OFF. It should be hanging downward to be in the ON position. If up---just gentley pull it down until it is moving freely. As the ice bin fill with cubes that arm should move up and down with the icemaker. Once the cube level is high enough for the feeler arm to be held in the up position it will stop making ice until you use enough cubes for the arm to fall again.
The internal part that is supposed to relases the control arm when the icemaker is harvestiing a cycle is hanging up and the icemaker itself or motor board would need to be replaced...all that is really needed would be the motor module and its less expensive the part numbers are
ENTIRE ICEMAKER 4317943
MODULE W10190935
depending on which one ya decide to replace (the entire icemaker or just the module) it can be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at searspartsdirect.com repairclinic.com apdepot.com apwagner.com partselect.com
It sounds like you have a bad icemaker. Usually when the arm is clicking its the gears that are stripped out. Feel in the icemaker if theres cubes frozen in there then you know the icemaker is definitely bad. With the arm in the up position it will not make cubes at all that is the off position for the icemaker. Hope this helps _MJ_
I think our water will dispense but our tab(arm) came off track and we don't know how to put it back on. Our icemaker works fine but can't see how the arm should be on. Let me know if you have any advice. Thanks, Shelby ~ Ohio
I don't think the ice maker liked the water being turned off. Usually there is an arm that will raise up to a catch position that will turn the ice maker off. I hate to say it, but ice makers are best to replace than repair. The internal parts are difficult to change, and with a new one you will have no problems. They are not too hard to change. Shop around for a good deal, I use e-bay.
If there are ice cubes in the icemaker sitting there waiting to be dumped then the icemaker is bad. If the icemaker is dry then it could be the water valve is bad.
your refrigerator relies on a emitter and receiver control board to tell it when to turn on and off. this could be the problem.
the guy at fixitnow.com sums it up best
What are the manufacturers thinking when they put out this overblown garbage?
It’s as though they had a bunch of electrical engineers sitting around one day
and said, “Oh, I know! Let’s design an icemaker that uses a bunch of flimsy,
expensive electronics to replace a function that could be done more reliably and
less expensively by a simple mechanical feeler arm!” Brilliant.

this site has some good info on the subject of diagnosing these boards.
Hi, everak11,
Three possible solutions for you.
1: No water coming in from inlet valve. Check voltage on inlet if you have voltage and no water then replace valve.
2:Icemaker not cycleing. Lift the arm on the icemaker to shut it off and leave it for about an hour. Come back in and turn the icemake back on by lowering the arm. If the icemaker does not begin a new cycle and the arm start rising then the problem is most likely an icemaker. Replace Icemaker
3:Refrigerator not cold enough. If the freezer is not getting cold enough the icemaker will not cycle. Check the temperature in the freezer and make sure it is getting down to 0 degrees. If not then you may have another problem with your refrigerator. I hope this helps you, Let me know if you have any other questions or symptoms. Mike
