Stand by timer red light flashing "no turn on"
The blinking should be in a pattern. When the set shutsdown because of a fault, the standby light will blink a code. This code should be a number of blinks followed by a 2-3 second pause then the code again. Please post that count as that will indicate the fault that was detected. Armed with that information, we should be able to provide you with an explanation of what is wrong and possible solutions for fix it.
Thanks,
Dan
FIrst of all, there is no lamp in your set. If your model is KV-36FS320, it is a CRT based set. I suspect that the count is 9 as the 8 count problem is very rare. That being said, the problem is in the power supply. Figure on $20-$40 for parts plu sthe local labor rate for the total repair cost.
Dan
The 9 count is usually a problem with the regulator. I will look up the part tonight and post the probable parts that are defective.

Thank you for your prompt response. The pattern is 8 times. But I'm not sure if 8 or 9. Can you help me with both patterns?.
(Sony site only said "outlet off; then put on and turn on; if not "turn on" look for assistance" (4 times pattern is related to lamp or something like this)
Thank you again
Dan:
Thank you (a lot) for your assistance. You are right the pattern is 9. Now I have an idea for cost.
